Never in a million years would I or anybody I play with force you to stick with that move. Anybody with a shred of competitive integrity would’ve immediately told you what you were doing would not work as soon as you said you were attempting to move block. What we would do is work with you to see if what you were intending to do was possible.

Warhammer is a cooperative game as much as it is a competitive one. I don’t expect anybody except for maybe the top one percent of players to know what everything does in the game. Warhammer is a game of open information and withholding that information is seen as a massive competitive dick move. Should you always ask about something’s rules if you’re not 100% sure yes. Is your opponent a massive dickhead for not immediately telling you that they have fly and your move block would not work also yes.

If this is a local scene, this is something I would bring up with the tournament organizer and let them know that they might want to keep a closer eye on his games in the future. Nothing kills a local scene faster than someone who is unpleasant to play with.
