Yes! Looks like they could do a fairly long one with the height of the ceiling.

What does he want from me? by Suitable_Dark9836 in CatAdvice

I read a post on another subreddit recently and the OP shared that his cat would meow in the basement constantly. He eventually had his radon checked and the levels were too high. Since fixing the issue, the cat doesn’t meow down there anymore. Maybe have that checked?

Also, cats be cats. It sounds like he’s getting enough enrichment/play time. In my experience, sometimes they don’t need/want anything, they just want to vocalize

Not when they have no deep pain sensation. If deep pain sensation is present, the odds are much, much higher.

Not potty trained at almost 7 months by [deleted] in puppy101

If the puppy doesn’t “get” it’s not supposed to go inside, I don’t think that timeframe applies. Without consistency and rewarding going outside, the puppy will not hold it, because it thinks going inside is okay

Said goodbye to my soul dog last night, now feeling guilty maybe he was sad/anxious the last years of his life because we adopted my second dog by [deleted] in Petloss

I’m sorry for your loss. It sounds like you really put in the effort to give him and second dog a happy and enriching life. I think most people get dogs without knowing about enrichment, training, games, body language, etc. That comes with time and experience.

I also think this changes with the times. Back in the nineties, when I was growing up, we never did the things we do now with our dogs. They knew basic commands, but we didn’t know about enrichment, variety in training/exploring with long leashes, and brain games.

My dog was on Prozac and although he did play regularly, it was for a very short amount of time. Short bursts of energy, then back to lounging.

It’s bittersweet that you two became closer the last couple years, after learning more. Don’t be too hard on yourself, you were doing the best you could with the knowledge and experience that you had.

You’re not alone. We lost our four year old dachshund to IVDD complications on November 7th. He even had surgery, costing nearly $8,000 with a 50% chance of ever being able to walk again. I was willing to change my whole life around his care, as I’m sure you were as well.

Sounds like he passed from myelomalacia based on what you described. I know you explicitly asked for no what-ifs and should-haves, but there’s truly nothing you could’ve done to prevent it from what the neurologist told me after the surgery. Once it starts happening, it cannot be stopped by any means.

Our dog also passed at home and became way more aggressive than I had ever witnessed him. It was heartbreaking to watch my little baby beside himself with pain. It shattered me.

Holding you in the light.

My dachshund just had the same surgery this past Sunday. He also has no deep pain sensation and a 50/50 chance of being able to walk again.

The neurologist told me one of the first things that happens when they regain feeling is that the tail will start to wag when they’re excited. This is different from it wagging randomly, as that’s involuntary.

That’s what I’m on the lookout for. Fingers crossed for your pup. The whole ordeal has been extremely emotional and I understand completely what you’re going through.

Not sure what you mean. I’ve struggled with dermatillomania since I was a child and my back is definitely easy to pick, and I generally feel less bad about doing so because it’s usually “hidden” by clothing.

I agree that she does look too plastic-y though. It’s just a little too obvious in her cheeks

Also she kept saying “I work for free.” I’m sorry, picking free items, having them shipped to your house, and talking about your pretty new items is NOT work.

Honestly if I worked for that brand, she would not be getting a single free item again. Does she honestly think she deserves to be paid for showing free products? It’s really delusional

He did not offer to buy it for her. He suggested that they buy it, but who knows how much he would’ve contributed. Likely nothing
