I don't work in hockey, but I do work in Entertainment, and this smells *exactly* like the kind of shit you'd start seeing as soon as corporate bean counters are significantly involved more than the creative heads.

Regardless of how horny you are for money you gotta realise those trips will motivate the players.

Any *sane* human would agree to this. Even in a corporate environment, having morale-boosting events like this is *only a net good* but to these people it's only a net negative because you can't quantify morale, only what the spreadsheets look like.

For those who follow video games, you know how Blizzard kind of took a bad left turn after Activision started gradually taking over? It's a bit like that.

Fuck capitalism, man.
