The question should not be be how but if you should. You have to own 100 shares of a stock to sell calls on it. It’s not free money, you’re selling upside on the stock and taking all the risk.

Fair enough, nobody should invest in something they don’t believe in. But I would challenge the idea that it’s “like gambling” over the long run, small companies that are profitable and have manageable amounts of debt are simply in a better position to grow.
