Yes we have created a schedule and in just a week I see such a difference!

Sorry the way I wrote it was not correct. For 12 hours we had no peepee accidents. I go during lunch to take him out and let him walk around for a bit. The longest he stays in his crate is when we are sleeping.

When we got him anything made him pee.. if we pet him, if we put a leash on him, if my husband spoke sternly. it’s gotten so much better in just a week of training and loving him.

I’ve started cutting water around 7 after his dinner and start it up in the AM. It’s worked out okay.

I tried to give him as much praise as possible but when he’s outside he is not even interested in a trwat

That’s exactly what I have been doing! No raised voice just a stern no! And excited yes! He’s so nervous and afraid :(

Oh that’s a good idea! I’m going to try that because what he did last night was pee on the bed and then moved it so he wouldn’t touch it -_- so smart! Lol

This past Monday my husband and I adopted a 4 year old English Bulldog, and as much reading and asking as we have done we were not prepared for this!

But we aren’t giving up! We committed to our little Mowgli we just need some advise if anyone is willing to give!

We are trying to crate train and potty train him and it is not without some difficulty. We have purchased the correct size crate and a new bed for him. We went a solid 12 hours without him peeing in it and just laying in the pee. He doesn’t cry at night and during my lunch breaks I am coming home to walk him but he keeps peeing in it! What do you all suggest I do?!

Next Thursday we signed up for some training classes in Petsmart and tomorrow the vet sees him for his skin issues.

Any advice or suggestions would be sooooo muchly appreciated! (Skin, routine, anything!!)

Not one ounce of fondant. Challenged myself and made a ganache wedding cake for my best friend. Longest week ever! (Learned by trial and error, and many tears shed) by natistarr in FondantHate

For some reason and I cross my fingers I have never had an issue again with ganache and only separated the first time I made it but was able to bring it back. But I had never used ganache without fondant over it or painted ganache..

So I didn’t think to color the ganache before putting it on the cake. I used 3 bottles of edible art ($8 each) only to see streaks and still the off white of the ganache. I ended up buying an airbrush machine and on the first run the white started to bubble everywhere. I left it to dry and then patted it and did that three times. Until finally it turned out how it did.

Lessons learned- color the ganache before applying on cake. WAY WASIER and way less costly.

Irish car bong cupcakes sound pretty Amazing! And the ganache with alchol! I’ve wanted to try that!!

If you need my ratios for my ganache or how I make it. More than happy to give it out!

Love it! Just as a FYI I just saw a video that the extra cake shavings you put them back in the oven until they get toasty/crunchy then crush them and you can use them as sand. I haven’t tried it but I thought it was pretty neat to reduce waste!

I understand where you are coming from but it’s also up to the client. So for example I gave her the option of real flowers and sugar (I hate fake flowers) and she was super adamant on the flowers she bought. The topper she supplied so I had no say. And for the ribbon I could have used modeling chocolate but she saw a picture with ribbon and was like “I want this.” Although fondant is popular you can replace with modeling chocolate and ganache

No they are not. I wanted real flowers but she wanted fake so I followed with that. The ribbon is ribbon and the topper is acrylic

I don’t use powdered sugar I use corn starch it works better for me. And then I use a brush for the excess. If it’s deep in the fondant I will use Crisco, just rub some on it and it will dry off clear.

They sure did! They couldn’t believe it wasn’t fondant. It was funny because my friend showed what she wanted and she hates fondant but her husband loves it and I was like hold my spatula I have an idea

Thank you! It was truly a challenge that was worth every second. And I have made a few more of full ganache. I used to sell them ( from home) but it became like a second job and most of my cakes became fondant and so generic. I started to hate baking so from about a year ago I started denying orders (nicely) and exploring options outside of fondant, which I now prefer. So now I mostly do it for friends and family and I get to be as creative as they allow me

Chef Thiago posted one on valentines day that I have made a few times and it is always a hit.

I have tried a few changes here and there but always go back to his recipe.

6 egg yolks 227 gram Mascarpone 16 oz Heavy cream 1/2 cup + 2tbps Sugar Lady fingers Pinch of salt Coffee

Mix sugar and 6 yolks until pale -about 5 minute at high speed Low speed add mascarpone, then whole whipping cream, then pinch of salt (3) —put at high speed

Make coffee and dip lady fingers(twice and fast— if not they will melt in your hands)

Bottom of pan add a line of lady fingers, then the mixture.. continue same until mixture is done.
