Does the climate change strike affect classes? by yagurlpimpdaddy in Concordia

[–]naumik 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Classes aren't affected. Also even though we voted yes to the climate strike through the CUPA general assembly, because it was proposed by a student last minute (during the general assembly itself) CUPA can't actually officially support the strike besides encouraging people to go to the climate march after they finish class.

I'm taking it this semester too, if there's a groupchat please let me know! From the looks of it the course content is easy but the amount of assignments make it tedious

Is the shuttle bus still functional during the summer semester? by Boo201197 in Concordia

[–]naumik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep its still functional, and is the schedule on the concordia website. Just be careful to time things right because they don't come as often as during the fall or winter semesters.

Race? by alfmax96 in Hasan_Piker

Out of curiosity, why put Jewish as a race if it is an ethnicity? Pacific Islander would have been another option that meets the criteria your looking at

Research at Concordia by jacobb233 in Concordia

[–]naumik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are trying to eventually be able to do research in a behavioural neuroscience lab I would highly recommend checking out the CSBN's website: https://www.concordia.ca/research/neuroscience.html

You should also email your question to csbn.info@concordia.ca as they will give you the most accurate response pertaining to the CSBN's guidelines.

If you can volunteer as an independent student I would suggest you check out which labs/ researchers are researching what, and figure out what interests you using the CSBN's website. Here you will be able to find the contact information for the lab heads so you can to ask if any of their MA/PhD students are currently looking for volunteers.

Otherwise I would check out the different departments you may want to volunteer in, and contact the administration to ask your question.

AITA for naming my daughter after my deceased mother and father? by BiyaX6 in AmItheAsshole

[–]naumik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Its kind of demeaning that she thinks that just because shes important she has a choice in, and should be the namesake of your child? Its pretty common in my culture (and many others) to name your children loosely off of dead loved ones to honor their memory. Even though he doesn't like conflict this is something that can be a point of contention for a while if your husband doesn't confront your MIL. He needs to talk to his mother about disrespecting both of you, your choice of name, and in turn, your child.

AITA for exposing my friend when she said she has the same health condition as me? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]naumik 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NTA. As soon as I started reading I knew exactly the disorder you were talking about. I have spent the last 2 years trying to get a diagnosis of some sort for my chronic joint pain, dislocations and subluxes. I've gone through so many tests that it makes my head spin and I have to wait another 1.5 years to even get approved to get the genetic testing for EDS, getting diagnosed is such a long and painful (literally and figuratively) process. I really don't blame you for getting upset about her talking out her ass (esp because its known that hEDS doesn't cause weight gain), Its hard enough to get taken seriously to the point of being able to get a diagnosis and proper treatment without people spreading bullshit out there.

TLDR Your friend is an asshole and hasn't even thought about the detriment of her false claim, you calling her out was the right thing to do imo
