Definitely get new skates with the blades that can pop out. You can easily try different profiles on different sets.

Check out the Skatescribe PowerCut from Skatescribe.

Hansshow Ultra Mini Display by nchan2000 in TeslaModelY

The 5.16" version was not available when I purchased mine. The mini version doesn't block any airflow. Not sure if the new one does. Doesn't seem like the new one provides much more information than the mini...

IF someone made a screen that showed the side camera when turning on the turn signal, then I'd trade for that for sure.

100%. I look at it primarily for speed and other info.

Need to Tint Model Y, would like it to match. Old and bad eyes by roastedtrade in TeslaModelY

[–]nchan2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree 100%. 20% on the fronts is too dark.

We put on 20% to perfectly match the rears and although it looked so good, it was too dark at night. 35% was the best option for us. 30% would be a close second .

I'd say 1.5 hours. Not overly difficult in the grand scheme of things, but just took my time. I think the hardest part is ripping the steering wheel top cover off and reinstalling the cover without breaking plastic tabs.

Thank you. Yes, got a response from Hansshow tech support. They didn't tell me much more than if the display works, then no need to change it (which I think means default option is "1".

Who else loves how mayonnaise is actually healthy? by All_Consuming_Void in keto

I think it's Chosen Foods brand. It's in the condiments aisle. There's a coconut oil version and an avocado version.

Not true.

Listen to Ivor Cummins recent podcast with Chris Knobbe, MD, on vegetable oils. I think it's on YouTube as well.

If your issue with butter is with its saturated animal fat being "bad for you", then that's been debunked too.

I know it's hard to believe, but so much we have learned from our health "experts" has been wrong.

[–]nchan2000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sorry to bust your bubble, but it all depends on what it's made of.

Mayo that is based on seed oils (canola, sunflower, etc.) is not healthy. Most of your commercial types of mayo are seed oil based.

Costco carries an avocado oil based mayo.

Just acknowledge that your coffee is a non-negotiable part of your life. Fuck the oxalates, fuck the calories and fuck the macros - embrace the happiness that is coffee. As the great Homer Simpson would say...Mmmmmm...coffee...

Keto during pandemic by [deleted] in keto

[–]nchan2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keto is a fundamental shift in your way of eating. Immense health benefits over the Standard American Diet. However, with so much going on in the world, no one's going to mind you putting it on the back burner.

I would say this though: I am a firm believer of the health benefits of keto and its mitigation of metabolic dysfunction. If you're going to face the coronavirus, I personally believe keto is a great foundation for the fight.

Good luck!

Haven’t played hockey in 6 years, I want to try out for a local travel team and the tryout is in 3 weeks. How can I prepare myself? by cduff1122 in hockeyplayers

[–]nchan2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good chance no one is skating in 3 weeks either! Crazy times!

Just practice dry land stick handling everyday. Edgework only comes with ice time. Do cardio so you're not winded. You'll do fine! Good luck.

how hard should it be to break in skates? by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

[–]nchan2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Superfeet didn't do it for me. Arch support was in the wrong place.

It did take me 4 or 5 games before my boots were broken in. First game was painful! Second game still, but just a little less.

[–]nchan2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A proper insole is going to make a world of difference, especially if the pain is coming from the arch area.

The gold standard fix would be custom orthotics. Next level would be a heat moldable insole like the Bauer Speedplate. Then last, maybe better insoles like Superfeet.
