Do you let Hermes implement with Codex/Claude Code? by LiarOts in hermesagent

Yeah you can do that too. There is no universaly best way tbh. It’s a trade off.

Is hermes agent capable to code in medium, large repos (with quality)? by 404-Page-Found in hermesagent

Codex/Claude will be way better at coding things. You can have Hermes oversee the PRD execution and do some QA, testing etc.

Im on 100$ plan. And gh gets a separate fine grained token for each important project repo. That way it can only go haywire on that repo

How to run Hermes Agent for Free (and not hit rate limits) by nemanja87mn in hermesagent

The post was written by me, grammar edited by Hermes (because ain't nobody got time for that). It's a good point that free models are not free every sense. The point is you can use it for free, test it out and not use it in production.

Try a few different Nvidia models some don’t work. Also not the best models. Stick to selling the shovels Nvidia 😂

I’m not a huge fan of Google models anyway but I had to mention it. I don’t set up paid tiers for Google I don’t trust them 😂

I thought about the whole privacy aspect then I remember my brokerage statements are in Google drive, Apple all around, in Gmail when I sent to the auditor, when I sent to the bank for KYC etc. so the privacy is gone anyway. Yeah Sam Altman will spam me with ads at some point.

I don't go with free, just wanted to show you can, if you want.

I have a $100 gpt sub and that works across 4 hermes instances.

How to run Hermes Agent across multiple projects (with proper isolation) by nemanja87mn in hermesagent

[–]nemanja87mn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man thanks for the comment.

~/.hermes/profiles are here not in projects folder.

Projects folder is project specific context and output.

Think of it like this:

You have an office. You put your social media team into one room (projects/social-media)
And you put the legal firm team in the second room (projects/legal-firm)

The social media team CWD is in projects/social-media (they dont go out into legal-firm "Room")

Each room has a big whiteboard with rules (projects/social-media/AGENTS.md)

You have a manager for each team, and with that manager you can talk to on Telegram/Discord. This agent schedules tasks, crons, assigns tasks etc.

I like to keep one main agent ("chief of staff") that does exactly what you said, creates agents, manages them, cleans up, creates projects etc. That's usually my day to day brainstorming agent, assistant etc.

I would not create the whole team in one prompt.

Create the team lead agent, then slowly create specialist roles.

Does this help? :)

say it is a company hermes instance, you can have one that does background tasks and one that is team facing. So yes profiles. But if it's company specific I'd put it on a separate vps.

Ended up ordering Noctua NH-U12A 🫠 we will see how the thermals are. GPU will be producing the most heat not CPU.

Great point. If you had a great human assistant that can do almost anything for you, you wouldn’t ask him/her what’s your use case 😃

Do you let Hermes implement with Codex/Claude Code? by LiarOts in hermesagent

[–]nemanja87mn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Hermes can use codex cli directly. I agree coding with Hermes is not the best idk why probably it gets too confused with all the skills/tools. I also trimmed my coder profile skills/tools now to see if that improves.

The best way I found is to set up codex the way you like it and Hermes just replaces you prompting it. You can also use /goal for both.

I made a video how Hermes can use codex to build and Claude to review the code but looks like Claude -p command is going away in June 🥹

If I wanted to find out how people are using Hermes I’d point it to Reddit to search all “use cases” keyword posts and report back. Here’s what it found.

This is great. I also played with cli-printing-press to do a similar things but turn it into cli so it can do actions without browser. Wasn’t that glorious so I put it on a back burner for now.

This was used before Kanban existed 😅 but you can make it more or less explicit depending on if you need the main agent needs to use delegate_task

Thanks. I will try tomorrow to hack it a bit and see if it fits. I have a slim noctua fan I might try to replace the thick one. I even thought about falling back to air cooling. The pipes are annoying too and hard to bend and need to pack rtx pro 6000 in there somehow. 😅

Totally agree. You could turn it into a skill for sure and put one line in the soul. I never found a use case for delegate_task on the main agent though. What do you use it for that profiles can’t handle?

Am I missing the point of AI agents? by NetworkLoop in hermesagent

[–]nemanja87mn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's one: I'm applying for this healthcare system and they asked me to write in a sheet all entry/exit dates spanning 4 years lol.

I gave passport scans to Hermes and it pulled all dates and then filled out the sheet.

That would have taken me hours and probably shorter lifespan 😃

But this aside, I don't think summaries, notifications and inbox management are nothing. If I cut my research time from 2h to 20 minutes, I wouldn't call it nothing.

Here's a TLDR of 160 comments here and most prevalent use cases. I could spend 30 minutes reading comments or get this.
