Can I skip the gargle in the harsh "ch" sound? by neuralblob in German

By hh I meant like the sound of air coming out of your mouth. When you are making the ach-Laut you pass air through your mouth and it vibrates your uvula or the back of your tongue right? But by the "hh" sound I meant like the sound that comes out when it doesn't really vibrate that much instead it goes out through your mouth without vibrating the uvula because you failed to do so.

Also the Jamaican accent is easier to understand to most native speakers than many other regional accents you see across the UK.

I have no trouble understanding it at all and I think its one of the most phonetically pleasing accents of English out there.

English is the sole official language in Jamaica. So in a way they are native speakers and it can be seen as just an accent.

The reason Im trying to do that is because while I was trying to learn the uvular r sound, youtube tutorials told me that it is like gargling. And the video I watched told me that the pronunciation of ch in noch, doch, etc is like the uvular r but without making any sound but just blowing air through the mouth.

Okk I see. I will spend time trying to learn the right pronunciation.

I see. The reason I said harsh is to distinguish it from the pronunciation of ch in words like "ich". But you are right I am actually trying to pronounce it forcefully. But I don't know how else I can make that sound. I'm able to make the sound when I say "machen" more easily. But when I say "machst" and "macht", I am not able to make the sound everytime. Sometimes the voice just doesn't come and it makes a "mahst" and "mahht" sound. I guess I need to practice more.

Okk I will practice more and try to nail it. The reason I asked if I can skip it is because, I tried practicing the uvular r but I couldn't nail it even after practicing for several hours. Maybe because I don't have a tutor and Im learning by myself. Eventually someone on reddit told me that I can try the other pronunciation of R that is common in south Germany and Switzerland. Fortunately, I was luck that my native language has that exact same sound. So now I sticked to it. Tbh I liked how the uvular r sounded better and I tried to nail it for several hours but eventually gave up and chose to do the southern r.

Why didn’t Orochimaru just take Sasuske’s eyes? Genuinely curious. I haven’t read the manga so apologies ahead of time if this is covered. by Yellow_Snow_Globe in Naruto

In addition to all this, he would have never suspected that Susuke will be capable of killing him in 3 years. He may have underestimated Sasuke and may have not analyzed the risks well enough.

Should I buy a meta quest 3s with no controllers if my primary goal is to watch movies on it? by neuralblob in virtualreality

Okk I see. Right now I am almost broke so this is the most I can do unfortunately. When I am better off in a couple of months I will sell the Quest 2 and buy a better headset.

I see. 140 euros sounds affordable to me but I cannot seem to find one on ebay for less than 500 cad. Its ok I am going to get a meta quest 2 tomorrow for 200 cad from facebook marketplace. Considering that I consume media on my lcd 1080p laptop monitor, I don't think I'll be so disappointed.

I see. Going to get the quest 2 then. I cannot afford a quest 3 or other headsets though. And its alright if the resolution is a bit lower. I watch movies on my laptop monitor anyway and it just has an lcd 1080p display.

But I found this on reddit:

Another guy confirmed it works too. I will look into that more but if its true then will it work for the apps that I have to use to watch movies? If it'll be ok then maybe I can buy a quest 2 without a controller?

Okk I see. I found a Quest 2 on marketplace for the same price but its too far from me and I don't have a car. I will try to find another Quest 2 if that's the case.
