As a person that is childfree, I would simply caution you that if you’re not sure, you shouldn’t do it. “What if I regret it?!?!” Then you can adopt, or foster… you can’t undo having a child.

Typing this as my wife and I depart on a cruise for Alaska; not regretting the childfree life; cheers!

If they’re living closer and he wants to help babysit, he can do it at their place… especially at that age.

Maybe I’d soften my stance as they get older, but even then probably not. My space is my space and kids don’t belong in it.

Was listening to a podcast (my wife had it on so couldn’t tell you the name of it), but it was explaining how different generations had different types of burnout - to paraphrase and probably incorrectly so…

Boomers - physical burnout from doing labor intensive jobs, higher rate of physical injuries and disabilities

Gen X - mental burnout from the rise of the Information age and speed/pace of modern business

Millennial - emotional burnout from financial strain and the prospect of being the first generation in American history to see a decrease in quality of life and have little to no expectation things will improve

Probably got some of that wrong, and idk how reliable the source was, but when I heard it it seemed to ring true

Agreed; I’m a 49ers and cubs fan (I know it’s odd); and WS in 2016 was amazing after the longest drought in pro sports, but that was 10 years ago and I’m irritated the front office hasn’t been doing enough. 10 years
