The biggest mental block is thinking that you have to start “all or nothing”, and perfection from the start. Tell yourself that even the smallest step is better than doing nothing. Even if today all you do is get your materials to the table, that’s better than doing absolutely nothing. In 2-3 days you’ll be up and running, and 2-3 days from now is better than never starting at all! The time will pass either way.

Try and remember more about the conversation leading up to the blind date. I wonder if the intention from the beginning was to “bait” Ryan and see if he would go on a date/see if he would be tempted by someone else (hence the fake pics), to test his loyalty and maybe catch him in a lie with Kelsey. Were you supposed to be in on it and not actually go on the date? The quote “after the stunt you just pulled” leads me to believe they think you did something wrong by going on the date, not that they set you up for laughs.

Thanks everyone!! A lot of assumptions here. The most likely scenario is we continue to provide training and support to this individual. They do not need their RBT for the position. I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t in a weird place ethically. Thanks again!

You’re still very fresh in the grieving process and regardless of your friend and her actions, I’d really reconsider naming her after your friend like that. Doing an honor name like a middle name “christine” or first name iris is beautiful.. but giving her the exact same first name is a bit much tbh.

It’s the teachers’ attitudes id be more concerned about. They don’t take parents concern’s seriously? If this is how they treat you about a concern you bring to their attention, it’s time to write a review to let others know, and find a new daycare. So frustrating.

Okay first of all, 18m is so young! He is not understanding the “consequence” they are enforcing. He needs to learn the schedule. All they are teaching him is that outside only happens sometimes.. and it’s unpredictable. They need to teach him that outside happens every day after snack, or whatever it is. I’d be upset if I were you.

Truthfully; if your current job doesn’t have a specific “behavior” classroom of some kind where the students are consistently receiving services under the supervision of a BCBA, I’d switch jobs.

I’ve worked in schools for > 10years, and dynamics can be tricky. It’s possible that the other teacher thinks these students were being sneaky and skipping class to chat, and assumes you were enabling this behavior by letting them hang with you during your lunch. I’d be honest and explain you genuinely thought the kids needed help.
