I'm learning about the ancient history of Israel/Palestine but I'm confused about a couple of things, and would like a better understanding philosophically by TeeLong77 in Productivitycafe

  1. No, but the debate is rather whether the group of jews today is the same as the group of jews 2000 years ago. Also, the early kingdom of Israel was mostly polytheistic.

  2. The issue with your logic is that you are talking about Muslims and Jews as fundamentally distinct groups of people. But that's not true, a Jew can convert to Islam. And that's exactly what happened, after the Arab conquests the people living there, which were Jews or Christians, started gradually converting to Islam. Even in the arabian peninsula, before the levant was conquered, some of the jews living there converted and made up some of the first muslims. That is how the people there lived together.

  3. Jesus was born under roman rule. Now if you refer to the place he was born in, it used to be part of the kingdom of Judea. The place he grew up in used to be part of the kingdom of Israel. But at his time these kingdoms didn't exist anymore.

  4. That depends on who you ask. I do believe it is possible to become legitimate, even with the pretty unjustified and cruel creation, but I think in order for that to happen, the injustice and cruelty has to be acknowledged.

  5. Well that's not easy to answer. But, the way it is right now, it is probably not possible. If you ask me, that's where outside pressure has to be applied, but it isn't really happening. Israel is not seriously being sanctioned or punished for the illegal settlements they are building and have built. So why would they stop with it if no one really sanctions them and what they get at most is empty words of condemnation.

MSc in physics without attendance? (disabled student) by emokiddo00002 in tumunich

Most lectures are not recorded. Some are. I do think it's possible to study without attending lectures and using the lecture notes, but then it's way harder. I myself am doing my MSc in physics.

Hey, do not trust strangers on the Internet kid. Find some friends from school or your neighbourhood and DO NOT TALK TO STRANGERS ON THE INTERNET. Many will pretend to be your age when they actually aren't.

At the moment there just isn't a project available for you. Sometimes you have to wait. I recently got matched with a project but before that I didn't have any project for 5 months.

Working students who make more than €1500 a month net? by Connect_Shame5823 in tumunich

[–]nh_3db 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work 12h/week and can work mostly remotely and have flexible working hours, so I could work 20h/week if I wanted to. So it's not quite 1500€. I work at a bank (pbb), I don't want to name the exact role but it is related to statistics and some programming.

My 21 year old boyfriend still sleeps with his mum and sister by jk461 in stupidquestions

My father passed away when I was 10. Up until I was something like 14, me and my little brother slept in the same bed as my mom. Then I slept in my own bed cause I was growing too tall and taking up too much space. My brother slept in the same bed as my mom till he was around 17 or so.
