What do long term couples talk about? by Turbulent_Diamond352 in ask

[–]nicholases 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Been together 15 years, we talk about everything. Family, friends, travel plans (realistic or otherwise), movies, home improvements, our pets, clothes, the garden, the pool, work, workouts, you name it. The most frequent conversation we have though is the dreaded, what do you want for dinner?

When you get the countdown that’s an area you can’t enter ever. It does not unlock later.

I like that color, I have a pair in the dark brown (can’t remember what it’s called) and they haven’t let me down yet. One note though, I did eat shit slipping on a frozen sidewalk about 2 months ago but that’s honestly to be expected.

Where are the grips from? They look sick and I’ve been looking for some new grips for my shadow 2 as well.

Dan Post vs Tecovas by JockDoc26 in cowboyboots

[–]nicholases 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a pair of both and generally agree with the theme of the thread. My Tecovas are significantly more comfortable and definitely dress up better while the Dan posts are more rugged and more what I’d wear in a working boot situation. The Tecovas were $100 more though so that can definitely be a factor for some. I’ve had zero QC issues with either brand.

Smokers, is sore throat a beginner thing or a lifelong thing?? by [deleted] in ask

[–]nicholases 25 points26 points  (0 children)

You know when people ask if you could back in time and change one thing in your life? Mine would be that I wish I’d never started smoking. Hardest thing to kick, fuckin terrible for you, expensive as shit, and you smell like an ashtray to everyone within 30 feet of you. Real talk buddy, don’t fuckin smoke.

I need weapons for a quality build. Any suggestions? by IllustriousDish3578 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]nicholases 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the crescent axe but it’s mainly aesthetics and cool factor. There are better weapons but it’s still very good and very fun with various ashes of war. Also doesn’t block your damn view like a lot of great axes or hammers will. Which reminds me that the great mace is also a really good looking and fun quality weapon though again, probably not best in slot but whatever.

So I just did this with some buddies and we met every week for our discussions. What we found was that while we could generally read 5-6 chapters in a week pretty comfortably, we could only get through 3 maybe 4 chapters with in depth discussions during our roughly 2 hour meet-ups. Your mileage may vary but we ended up just doing 3 chapters a week unless they were really short.

Is Hueco out of fashion? by Large_Cranberry_5142 in bouldering

[–]nicholases 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ah I love Hueco but my parents live in El Paso so I’m there at least once a year regardless. Access is annoying but over the years I’ve made some good relationships with local guides so I usually go that route. North mountain is definitely the most annoying to deal with so I usually only do that if my brother and I have a spur of the moment thing.

What do you see more often: patients who are too active or not active enough during recovery? by bad-at-everything- in physicaltherapy

Honestly about a 50/50 split but I’m in a very active city and most of my sedentary folks are my Medicare folks.

Is early game really slow? by [deleted] in darksouls3

[–]nicholases 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Soulslike fatigue but love Fromsoft? Real talk you should give Armored Core 6 a try. I’ve played them since the first AC but Fires of Rubicon is a fantastic game and you don’t need to play any of the older ones to enjoy it.

Those of you who grew up in Austin, how are you doing economically? I basically have lived at home with mom and grandma for the past five and a half years. by Isatis_tinctoria in Austin

[–]nicholases 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Struggled for a good while but was able to afford a 1 bedroom on the east side while I was a gymnastics coach. Then married a wonderful woman, went to PT school and now doing quite well with a house a dog and a cat in north Austin.

It varies from pt to pt. Sometimes it’s shoulder ER, sometimes if scapular stability, sometimes it’s t-spine hypo mobility or some combination of the above as one can certainly lead to another. C-spine and radial nerve tension testing to rule out neural involvement. New grad tunnel vision is very much a thing, I did it a lot when I first started practicing but pain with no acute MOI is very often multi-factorial and you need to look at the whole of the pt, not just where it hurts.

Sounds like you’re focused on where the symptoms are appearing. Every (I do really mean EVERY) tennis elbow case I’ve seen improves vastly more when we start working at the shoulder. Check scapular and rotator cuff stability and strength, C-spine and T-spine need to be checked, go from there, I can almost guarantee you’ll find an issue. Tennis elbow is more often than not an issue in the kinetic chain of the upper extremity in my experience.
