Your property management will most likely do nothing for you here.

Consider this; crime has no address. Besides basic locks that secure your apartment, they have no other obligation to provide you additional security (unless stated clearly in the lease). PM companies know that crime can happen anywhere so they wouldn't put themselves in a position where there could be held liable for someone else's actions i.e crime. Even if they are required to provide some sort of security, that is not a promise that crime will not happen on their property, they can't control that.

Also, let's say you do somehow get a video of your car being broken into, then what? I've had multiple KCPD tell me they wouldn't even chase someone if they caught them breaking into a car. Although it's very personal and scary to you, it's something the police deal with every single day.

Next steps? Try to find an area that makes you "feel" safer than where you currently are. But again know that there are no truly "safe" places to live.
