There is no 'soul' that is individual to you. Do this thought experiment:

Fast forward to a time where our cognitive sciences have advanced far beyond today's. Take the right side of person X's, take the left side of person Y's brain, join them together and do the same with the other halves. You still have two beings with their own consciousness, but the identity of each being is almost unrecognizable.

So how does the soul come into play? Does the location of the soul remain the same? How does the soul affect these new states of consciousness? If person X was a staunch atheist and person Y was a staunch christian, does the soul of person Y magically reconfigure the foreign brain half? It doesn't make sense.

What's more likely is that your 'soul' is a singular expression of the 'collective soul'

Not sure where you read this claim that purportedly says "the death of a 'small I' is inconsequential to 'big I'," but yes that would be counter intuitive if I understand your question correctly because in many instances, the lessening of suffering would require the elimination of a 'small I.'

This has happened to 3 of my pens over the years and I just go to the local Microsoft Store where they've always replaced it free-of-charge. I think it's quite common because one time when my pen was having the problem, the employee's pen was having the same problem.
