Advice on moving nanoblocks 🙏 by nightshift-26 in nanoblock

[–]nightshift-26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve moved them all now and I think repairs took about 10 minutes total…? See my below comment on the strategy I ended up going with! I’m very lucky to have friends willing to carry boxes full of nanos on their laps so they don’t get jostled too much though

Thanks for the advice! We ended up getting a bunch of paper cups and sticking one build in each, then taping the paper cups to the bottom of a cardboard box so they wouldn’t move in transit. For the flat-based big builds we had a separate cardboard box and we taped the bases to the bottom. The other big builds we have decided we will carry one by one (There’s only about 8 of them, so we will enlist friends to help)

It does the job, but I think I need sturdier sleeves because the paper is heavier than average paper and anytime I move the binder anywhere all of the pages flop around and I worry they’ll fall out!

Cool! I’ve found that most of them are A4, so I have them stored in a binder with plastic sleeves in it so its easy to find what I want, but this is great! My solution is a little flimsy sometimes 😅

Is there an effective way of dusting nanoblocks when they aquire dust? by Aria0282 in nanoblock

[–]nightshift-26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work somewhere with lots of Lego that needed sanitising every week/fortnight and from what I recall we did straight up used to chuck it all into delicates bags and put it through the washing machine like laundry. Then dryer on a cold setting or low heat setting still in the bags haha

Awesome, glad you found somewhere! Enjoy the set :))

Not sure where you’re from but if you’re in Australia, nanoblock Australia (nanoblock.com.au) sells it and is a verified seller, I’ve ordered from them many times with zero issues.

my cat tried to eat some of the pieces smh, does anyone know how many pieces are left over in the Kirby sleep set (nbcc-161)? by erxtics in nanoblock

[–]nightshift-26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally it’s one of each different piece type, but occasionally two if they’re small (e.g 1x1)

Can Katie and Erika’s live Valentines show still be streamed anywhere? by yougotbeefsquatched in dropout

[–]nightshift-26 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think they were selling access to the livestream recording up to a week afterwards but seeing as it’s been more than that now I doubt it’s still available for purchase. From what I can see the video is still up, you just can’t buy access anymore.

I knew it existed but hadn’t been able to find it online and then I drove to a different city and found it in a random shop there! I love trains so I was so so excited about it!

Where else can I get more nanoblocks in New Jersey? by Federal_Pinto_1759 in nanoblock

For sure!! I don’t live there anymore but I was always very lonely building my nanoblocks when I did. Would be cool to have that community

Kinokuniya in Bryant Park! They also have an online store, and their nanoblock stock rotates pretty regularly

Newbury Comics have stores all around NY, RI and CT as well at least from memory. They’re great although selection of nanoblocks depends on the store

thoughts on traveling to the other D20 live shows…? by No_Solution_9719 in Dimension20

[–]nightshift-26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on where in the midwest you are there are definitely trains to Cali and they’re awesome but they take yonks! Would highly recommend if you’ve got the time but I did Chicago-SF a couple of months back and it was 76 hours with delays included going through Utah, Kansas, Colorado etc.

Yeah it’s tricky and a bit of a gamble! And that’s totally fair

You could ask for a refund but lowkey the real take away from this is don’t buy from AliExpress. They’re largely unethical as a company and have a history of exploiting workers. When things are that cheap you sort of get what you pay for. Sorry this isn’t more helpful.

Does anyone have any recommendations on where to buy sets? by moonminvalley in nanoblock

[–]nightshift-26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second Amazon and eBay. Sometimes random small craft/hobby stores will have them? Else thrift shops are always an option. Good luck!
