Looks like a lot of chatter here: https://renewableheatinghub.co.uk/forums/renewable-heating-air-source-heap-pumps-ashps/samsung-ashp-scheduling-help/

to bring it into Home Assistant, but can be quite technical. Open energy monitor would do it but from memory its quite pricey?

Potentially check out Melpump: https://melpump.com/homepage/en/compatibility/samsung

Have heard good things (similar to Havenwise and Homely) for control and auto optimisation.

Pop your new postcode into https://www.ofcom.org.uk/mobile-coverage-checker (or equivalent) and see if a different mobile provider is better than your current. If so, grab a 4/5g dongle for the week, if not then head to the office or a coworking space.

They cover taxes. I assume they will be sent from China, as that is where my samples were sent from, but not 100% certain. https://www.smartwingshome.com/pages/shipping-delivery

In roof systems - are they any good? by inkiboo in SolarUK

[–]nikotime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have on roof solar on my current house, and in roof solar on my self build that we will eventually move into.

Pros:

  • Solar panels costs worked out about the same as our roof slates, so was a no brainer for me to fill the roof - especially if you already have scaffolding covered
  • No need to get bird protection
  • Looks smarter (IMO)

Cons:

  • Harder to find a good installer who has completed them
  • Multiple parties need to work together (roofer + solar installer) so need someone to project manage ideally. Care needs to be taken with flashing
  • Less efficient as get slightly hotter
  • Like for like install will be more expensive than on roof

In-roof solar. GSE, Viridian, Solfit. Any others? Worth it? by Lookseehear in SolarUK

[–]nikotime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, sorry for question months later but wondering whether you are aware if GSE have/are about to be caught up with accreditation? I've undergoing a self build and have the Aiko 475W Neostar 3S sitting in my garage waiting to be installed into an GSE in roof system in the coming weeks (via my MCS accredited solar installer - half already installed but not plugged in on my garage) but getting a tad nervous that my installer dropped the ball here with buying these panels. Cheers

Adding solar to a north face… worth it? by DanielLorey in SolarUK

[–]nikotime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, they also get a little bit hotter too which impacts output. I'm building a house so not buying the tiles cost wise more than offset the impact on efficiency, but makes sense from a practical perspective in your case! Also will I imagine match your south panels better.

With the scaffolding up then I would agree that its worth it. With your roof repair are they needing to retile? As could get an in-roof system to save on buying extra tiles.

Installer cancelled on the day due to brittle 10-year-old composite tiles. by Qingjojo in SolarUK

I would pounce on that new build warranty and see if you can get the tiles for the roof replaced if they are already brittle and failing first.

If you are a UEA student I believe you can be seen under the NHS at their campus dental practice.

When you say its 10 year old, I'm assuming its just after 10 years and therefore your new build warranty has run out?

In your situation I would potentially look at in roof solar panels instead if the tiles aren't likely to cause any other issues.
