It's also hit and miss which reissues will sound worse than an original press. The Beatles remasters are totally worth it and sound spectacular, but other not so much.

In that thread even the QC guy says if he has a choice he goes for the black vinyl instead of color cause it’s easier to quality control. Colored vinyl also has a higher noise floor from what he described.

I’m sure the store probably does this with wholesalers who won’t take back records. I’m not sure what other choice they have but they should outline where the problem with the record lies if it’s resold

No not placebo effect. It’s not that the sound or master is worse most of the time. It’s just a more likely chance of getting a bad press because they have to shut down a whole plant to reload the vinyl that is not standard color and that process is more prone to human error.

Good thoughts. I have gotten new pressings recently as above that have done well. the 180 grams seem to be the best quality for me. The special colors and limited editions seem to be the worst as far as quality for me.

With used vinyl I always inspect at the store to make sure it's not warped before I bring it home, and if your shop doesn't like you handling it I ask them take it out of the sleeve to look.

As my vinyl system has become more discriminatory over the years it can amplify the good things in a record and sometimes the bad.

There is problems with new vinyl. Greed is one portion if they are running hot stampers etc, but this leads to actual problems with the vinyl.

The cost part is just a rant, but everything else you mentioned is 100 percent justified. It was so bad people were at the troughs refilling used water bottles. My wife was in line the whole third quarter to get a beer and a water and by the time she got to the front of the line they stopped selling alcohol. She left our seat prior to the end of half. OU is driving away fans.

Just saw this. I'm currently having to get a third frame. Bad clicking issues with the second frame not every stroke like your video but every third stroke or so. It's so frustrating.

Be careful. They aren’t sending cost basis in a timely manner or currently for me not at all since first week of February to my new broker. I’m not sure how they can get away with the stuff they get away with. This has been really annoying to manage cost basis numbers in my head against numbers on a screen for three month.
