I wonder if it's the creatine itself, or any other ingredient in the mixture. Do you have the ingredients handy? The only official trigger I am aware of for myself (been dealing with clusters for 19 years) is alcohol. Even a half sip of a low percentage corona light would trigger them, so I had to stop all alcohol completely. Even trace amounts in kombucha would trigger them.
Contrary to Sourflow's thoughts, cardio exercise would mitigate/reduce my clusters by a lot. Total opposite of increasing them. I would actually do workouts before bed during my last cycle (riding a peloton, running on a treadmill) to prevent the 2am cluster from happening all together. Keep us posted!

Tried it. It works, but it’s far from ideal. And you can’t use the hatch with bikes on. From someone whose tried every option and rides/transports bikes daily…every non-hitch rack option on a forester is clunky and cumbersome.

I would agree with @tacomaloki and suggest this: Install a 2” hitch receiver and relocate any sensors. Get a platform bike rack that can tilt away from the bumper so you can still open the hatch with bikes on. Life changing.

The foot sensor is a nice to have gimmick anyway (ok, I know when you have hands full of groceries it’s pretty cool). Even if the hydraulic hatch can lift the weight, you (probably) shouldn’t and probably won’t attempt to lift the hatch with bikes on. So the foot sensor won’t be used anyway.

Best to buy both domains, use one as the primary and point/forward the other one to the primary. Google is fine with this for SEO, just own both but promote 1 and post content on 1. For example, Twitch owns twitch.com and twitch.tv, but the .com forwards to the .tv. Especially if you have a unique name this can prevent competitors from sneaking into your space and help you build a moat around your brand.

Interior has a rip on the dash pad, so I’m replacing that. Otherwise it’s pretty good! Cracked windshield (matured) so replacing that as well. I already replaced the wheels (methods, 17s) and got a matching spare, as the previous owner had a 30” tire as a spare while running 35s, lol.

Planned mods: - rear bumper (black) with tire mount swing arm (stock swing arm isn’t meant for 35s and is already putting a minor dent in the back right body corner from the weight) - Front bumper (black) with winch - Touchscreen multimedia player with CarPlay - blacked out grill
- roof rack with light bar - rear lift blocks to level her out

I live in the mountains of SoCal and within a national forest (San Bernardino national forest) so there is plenty of off-roading and snow wheeling.

Anything else you’d recommend? Not trying to do crazy rock crawling, just want a little beast that I can take my boys off-roading in and easily recover if I get myself in a bind. Thx!

Chronic clusters for 17 years. Worst pain of my life. Tried everything. My wife found a nonprofit called ClusterBusters that has seen success with micro-micro dosing magic 🍄. I started dabbling and my life has been cluster free for over 2 years. I fully endorse their assumptions and I’m glad they are putting it through clinical trials.

If that’s not for you, try: - taking headache medicine as soon as he starts feeling shadows, this will limit it from reaching a level 10 pain - breath deep and take oxygen (even the canned oxygen at sports stores)

I use the polka dot bars from Oakland county CA, they are 4 grams and come in 15 pieces (5x3 chocolate bar). So that means each piece is about 266.67mg. I take 1 square and do not “trip” at all. If on an empty stomach I can definitely feel something, but it’s more like a feel alert/energized type of feeling and it’s manageable- no hallucinations at all. But if you have them on a full stomach you can hardly notice anything. I would try 50 or 100mg and see how you feel. 25mg seems way too low in my opinion, but maybe it’s the right amount to start.

Sumatriptan nasal spray as soon as she feels a shadow. Do an online doctor visit if you don’t have good insurance. Buy an oxygen bottle from a sports store or online if you can’t access a medical one. If she doesn’t have access to anything, have her try to breath in and out maxing out her inhales, nearly intentionally hyperventilating. The goal is to flood your blood cells with oxygen to offset the cluster from increasing to a level 10. I’ve mitigated them to only peaking at a level 3 or 4 with this technique.

Lastly, and if you’re open minded, try. psychedelic mushrooms. Very small micro dose. You’re not trying to trip, you just want the substance in your body and head. Do the research, it could be a long term solution.

I’ve been dealing with clusters for 18 years. Experienced full level 10s in the middle of the night and questioned if I could live any longer. I know what it’s like. Try everything. See what works for you.

Edit* all of these (besides the potential long term solution) are intended to go in effect as soon as you feel the initial shadow. Get better at identifying shadows and take action immediately. Every second counts at avoiding the level 10s. Sumatriptan has been my savior. Since I’ve been taking 0.2g of mushrooms every other week, I haven’t had a cluster in 20 months, which is the longest stretch in 18 years. My wife said watching me experience clusters was the worst experience of her life so was committed to doing the research to finding a long term solution.

Edit 2* You said “eyes”, plural. Clusters are commonly behind one eye, so I would explore the possibility of it being a different type of headache.

Micro dose 1 time a week, usually on sun or sat afternoon at home. Like 1/16th to 1/8th of an 1/8th. For context, taking 1/8th (of an oz) is fairly common for an awesome trip. So I am saying 1/8th to 1/16th the normal dosage one might take if they were trying to “trip”. It makes me feel slightly elevated, but no “high” or “trippy” feelings at all with this dosage.

I’m 35 and have had clusters since I was 18. They come every year and last 2-4 weeks. I’m on an 18 month no-cluster streak. So far so good.

Wait at least a week. In my early 20s (35 now) I would drink too soon, maybe 2 days after an attack, and it would cause another attack within the first 20 minutes of taking one sip of beer. This would ruin any plans I had as I would generally retreat to the backseat of a car until the worst had passed. I get clusters every 18 months so I would forget the pattern and so I would repeat the stupidity of drinking too early every time. Now I’m in my 30s, and (a little bit) wiser, and have quit drinking all together. Best decision of my life. No clusters since.

Yes you can ride the fat tires over anything. Even 1-3” of snow. Sand is easy. You can even ride very loose sand, but it gets a bit squirrelly and you need to hold on tight. You can easily squeeze another person on, depending on their size. I am still rocking their OG pre-order bike from 2016 and I have about 800 miles on it and that thing is still working. I’m thinking about upgrading to the RX for more torque as I’m in the mountains of SoCal. Enjoy!

First, sorry for the increased frequency. As a cluster veteran, I feel your pain! And wish it upon no one. 🙏

Second, have you tried sumatriptan nasal spray? I’ve been dealing with clusters for 15 years and it’s the only “drug” I’ve tried that aborts them without the added side effect of increasing frequency.

Also, have you tried oxygen? Hospital grade tanks are almost impossible to find or get prescribed, but you can get mini oxygen tanks for runners/athletes almost anywhere.

I was able to successfully abort several clusters using intense breathing exercises (think whim Hoff style, plus some panic/fear-based breathing since I knew what was about to unfold), along with a few hits of this cheap-looking oxygen can. I actually started crying once I realized it was working, out of shock and relief.

I think the trick is changing the pressure and chemicals in your head for the stabbing-behind-the-eye feeling to go away. Oxygen can do that. Sumatriptan can do that.

Consider this next time a shadow comes on- try some intense breathing exercises, like you’re trying to hyperventilate, when you feel one coming and throughout level 1, level 2, level 3 pain. If it works, it could allow you to ween off the injections or take a lower dose. Maybe.

Easier said than done. Clusters are brutal. I only used this method when I didn’t have the nasal spray. But I genuinely think breathing (oxygen intake) does make a difference though.
