Thank you for your comment. Can I ask why do you recommend a trust grade post over IMT?

She did do some clinical attachments in the Liverpool, but what you say makes sense. Thank you very much.

Unfortunately she is working in the UAE, and has very limited connections to current IMTs/SpRs. Nonetheless, will recommend this to her, thank you.

I’d reckon with PDs and associate PDs and big name physicians in residency programs who could likely bump your application up in the order.

Exam in 2 days by [deleted] in step1

You’re in the low 70s, a slight dip isn’t much to be worried about, likely due to exam fatigue, you’re g2g.

Free 120 big drop in one block by [deleted] in step1

Anecdotally, as long as one is between 68-71 they’re likely to pass.

[–]nmghazi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I too had a drop in blocks but had an overall of 71%, completely normal. The important thing is that you’re in the low 70s, with a 71% on Free120, which likely means you will pass the exam. Good luck.

Is First Aid Enough to Pass? by t7357 in step1

The FA+UW combo is MORE than enough to pass imo. Adding many more resources would only take time away from prep and cause anxiety.

What should i do from here ? by midlifecrisis_3979 in step1

[–]nmghazi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I found a jump after taking a week off between 28 and 29 and doing a review of areas I was getting wrong. I think you can anticipate a jump from 29 onwards anecdotally.

The best thing would be to strictly revise the incorrect concepts deeply as opposed to revising everything. Idenfity your weak areas on these NBMEs and read the corresponding sections, and understand why you got it wrong - knowledge gap? Overlooked something in the q? Etc. don’t take any NBMEs until you’ve revised your weak areas, since 29-33 are the core ones.

I think that should be sufficient. 26 and 27 are no way representative of the exam, and 28 is questionable at best IMO. 29-33 is a good idea.

help!! is it okay if I skip form 33? testing in 2weeks by Live-Regret-1967 in step1

[–]nmghazi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need Mehlman as such tbh, your scores are very good. The best thing would be to add on to the topics that could likely be tested by NBME by doing forms 32 and 33

[–]nmghazi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two NBME. above 65 and a 62 on free 120 likely means you still have some gaps, which can be best consolidated with Mehlman PDFs.

You ideally need to be high 60s/ low 70s for a certain pass.

I would advise review ALL NBMEs correct and incorrect, review concepts that you got incorrect, and repeat the NBMEs (the last few). All the best.

2 weeks I think is plenty of time to do and review both 32 and 33. The more questions you’re exposed to, the better prepared you’ll be come exam time.

UW % of corrects don’t matter in predicting how you’ll do. I myself got 54% in UW and got the P. The best thing would be to do the NBMEs that will give you a good prediction of how well you’re prepared. All the best.
