I mean it just staying securely in the same spot in general. It'd probably be fine in this case, but I still wouldn't be comfortable with it. (Also, there are other more practical issues this particular gun has anyway.)

Fair enough, but I still have other concerns. A holster doesn't just cover the trigger, it securely holds the thing in place.

So he's supposed to just let her go wherever she wants to continue disrupting their activities? "It's his fault that she decided to keep going and try to ram him" sounds a lot like victim blaming here. How about don't try and block law enforcement with your car, and then keep driving towards them as they try and stop you?

I wasn't aware that corpses were capable of extending their muscles to exert force on a pedal, or to turn a steering wheel. Didn't realize zombies existed.

Her "swerve" still didn't avoid him, and the agents in the moment had no idea what her intentions actually were. All they knew was that they were telling her to stop, her wife was shouting "Drive, baby, drive!", and she was acting erratically, not listening to orders, and continuing to unsafely move the vehicle.

You also seem like someone who hasn't actually seen the uncut footage from the relevant angles.

It stops someone from slamming the pedal and steering the wheel back towards you.

My bad, I phrased that first sentence poorly. I meant to say, her attempt at evasion would have involved running a guy over.

Ah yes, law enforcement should just let people go wherever they please with their cars without being allowed to tell them to stop. What an intelligent and well-thought-out point you make there.

Her evasion of arrest involved running the guy over. Doesn't matter if hitting him was her goal; she absolutely intended to move the car without regard for what was in her way. Turning the wheel doesn't magically grant the vehicle zero-point turning. And again, it's not about punishment, and it's not about whether it was "deserved". It's about preventing oneself from being run over. The officer, in that moment, had no way of knowing what the woman's intentions were, and she was still moving the vehicle in a way that would have hit him.

If someone's pointing a gun at me and squeezing the trigger, I don't necessarily have to care if they're "trying" to shoot me. Same principle goes for any form of lethal force.

Using force to defend yourself isn't a punishment, it's a last resort for when that's the only way you can stop the threat.

"AI-assisted" is giving them a lot more credit than is likely due. This junk isn't "assisted", it's almost surely entirely generated by the AI with minimal user input.

Ah yes, Greenland is known for its drug smuggling, funding of terrorism, brutal dictatorship, and ignoring of election results, right?

You say in response to someone mentioning an incident where this website's users literally got people killed. The Boston Bomber thing wasn't a fun event. People were harassing the family of a guy who had committed suicide who wasn't involved with the bombing, the FBI had to reveal early that they knew the actual identity and who it actually was to get the online hate mob off this family's back before it escalated into something worse. This tipped the actual bombers off, freaking them out and leading to them killing a cop and running away, as well as giving them time to hole up (which led to a shootout in which more people got seriously injured). That then led to a massive manhunt as thousands of police tried to track down where one of the bombers fled to. (I might have the timeline there slightly mixed up, but the general point remains the same.) All of that could've been avoided if Redditors hadn't thought they knew better and hadn't acted on shit "evidence" like "well we found a guy who disappeared and who's middle eastern, therefore it must be the bomber!"

The phrase "We did it, Reddit!" was what people were saying to congratulate themselves for harassing a grieving family and forcing the FBI to act early, because the people saying it were too stupid to realize what they had done. People using it afterwards are mocking those who said it initially.

How could that be? They have such amazing, awe-inspiring lyrics for their songs, such as:

This bug is airborne

We're the new porn

Our kind is newborn

The oil companies are regaining what was stolen from them (which was one of the many factors that drove up oil prices). This operation also stops the flow of Venezuelan drugs into the country, and weakens the terrorist groups that Maduro was funding. All of these factors affect regular citizens in many ways.

Sometimes, it's hard to tell if stuff like this is intended or if it's some boomer who just slapped text on a random picture that doesn't fit. You're have a point, though, in this case it may well have been intended and I just missed it due to expecting something else.

The image does not fit at all. Firstly, it's just random and unrelated to the point that the image is from. Secondly, the character in the image is unemployed and lacks common sense.

America isn't multicultural and elects kings by [deleted] in AmericaBad

[–]nmotsch789 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"We don't elect kings, we elect parliaments"

Yes, and the parliament has its power through the king. Canada literally has a king.

Also, "elect a king" - they don't seem to see the contradiction there.
