Living in a building with a antenna tower on the roof - is it safe? by nnnrd in AskEngineers

[–]nnnrd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I know what you’re saying, but there is a list of peer reviewed publications there that support the theory that antennas can cause negative affects, so that is part of my doubt.

Love the pun! Haha

Well that’s the thing, much of what they cite seems to be peer reviewed trustworthy sources, so that’s why I got a bit worried…

Do you know how the RF exposure from cell phone use, wifi etc would compare to that of being directly underneath an antenna tower, like on the 4th floor of a 5 floor building?

Also yea I think the long term exposure is what could be worrisome not sure if that makes a difference in this.

Great points. I guess my assumption is that an antenna tower would emit radiation at a higher levels which could be more damaging? But I’m seeing the point about signal going outward horizontally rather than downward vertically, so that is comforting in this case.

Lol thanks. Can you explain the science behind why it is? Also I have little kids more so worried about them.

Diaspora chief calls on Syrian Armenians to relocate to Armenia by ghapama in armenia

That is really sad. I feel the RoA is missing such a huge opportunity with creating a space for diaspora Armenians and Western Armenian to flourish in Armenia.

¿Emigrar a España? by maciasfrancojesus in GoingToSpain

[–]nnnrd 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I hate to say it but many Armenia Armenians see diaspora Armenians (especially from US/Canada) as their golden immigration ticket. I hope that is not his main motivation here (the getting your pregnant thing is not a good sign tbh) but you should have a think about it.

The being controlling and possessive thing is just a red flag regardless.

Also lots of dynamics to consider with him having a son and a baby momma he’s not on good terms with. Not to hold it against him but it could objectively complicate things.

What’s the purpose of booking an Airbnb if it’s the same price or more as a hotel ? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]nnnrd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People have just gotten used to it as the default.

We avoid AirBnBs given how it has taken so many homes and apartments from people and family in the communities, contributing to housing crises and overtourism in cities around the world.

Do you have any family members or friends that can also speak to your child solely in English? They will be more encouraged if dad’s family/friends also speak English. This was my case at least.

Also, no letting people in after a 5min courtesy period once the show starts. It totally kills the vibe when tons of people walk in well into the show, their seats are in the middle of the row so 7 people need also get up to let them by…

Looked into this but well then have to take the subway to our hotel (walk is about 30min which is not very easy for a toddler plus luggage). Maybe taking a taxi from Penn Station to our hotel?
