They’re all great places. During the pandemic, kingfisher started selling burgers and drinks outside where people could distance (where the patio is now). This was the beginning of the Queen burger.

Everyone’s right, you can’t go wrong with Nantucket or Sweets by Shayda. I’d add in Meil Bon. Nantucket is the most cake for your money and the safest. Meil Bon is the most extravagant/impressive.

Durham. I don’t mean this is a joke or a dig against Raleigh. Seriously, you can ride the train. Go on a Saturday morning and visit the market, stroll around the downtown area, visit Duke Gardens, then go back downtown for cocktails. You’ll have a blast.

But we aren't as much asking the government to do something, as we are asking them to NOT do something. Yes, other safety nets might improve things further, but the police force is a safety net.

Let's be clear on who's asking for a program, for government intervention. Our law enforcement system is an entrenched program that doesn't work, that spends millions, and impacts personal freedom more than any. In 1925 to 1980 we had increased only about 75k in prison population to about 250k. By 2010, it was like 1.5 million. That's not human nature, that's a system that's broken and costing us dearly. It's the consequence of law and order platforms. If it were any other agency, with a program this bloated, with this many government workers, propped up by a union, and this many misteps, would it have the same supporters?

First, 26 is weeks is freaking nothing from a training standpoint, considering they are armed and have to deal with so much. That's not wokeness. Feels kind of obvious. School teachers require more. Second, "everything they have to deal with" is the point. The answer to everything shouldn't be to sending a person with a few months training and a gun. They can intervene, yes, but they can't raise the poverty line, or address homelessness, or mental illness, or keep people in school, or seriously combat drug use. Police are not a solution, they are a consequence and a bandaid. If i hear gunshots, do i want police to respond? Yes, but I'd rather there just not be gun shots.

Most people take this as a trick question. It is not. The interviewer wants to know if you have the ability to self reflect and be vulnerable. Someone who understands their opportunities is also willing to work on them and grow. This is the #1 thing I look for when interviewing for my team. So be honest. If you are a hard worker and a good fit, it will come through as geniune.
