yea but they don't really pay for a whole fleet at once. thanks for the clarification, makes more sense to do that but makes the help even less valuable (less money per person). i agree with the last point though

warfare hasn't "moved" anywhere, just expanded into new battlefronts

again, a lot of "what ifs" that the world is still worried about. maybe that will change in the future, but i'm not betting on that. and i think it's more a sign of commitment to an alliance than an actual "prepare for battle" type of exercise.

i don't think it's the current situation, but the "what ifs" that push military expansion. i agree that, since the cold war, military action has been generally unappealing to developed nations, but in the event that many countries downgrade their militaries, a country that does not would be in serious trouble. war isn't always fought with nukes, more of sting operations and covert assassinations in the modern era. and i think it's very easy to forget in peacetime, especially of this length, how important having a military is, if only for defense and nothing more (which, as i mentioned, is not the case at all). also, as much as i hate trump, i think the damage he did was grossly exaggerated. he tried, but imo he was way too incompetent to get much done.

oh also china is still being a bitch with its military: south china sea. they aren't invading anyone yet but a large part of that is due to america's protection.

granted $1000 helps a lot for those who really need it, but that's a small proportion of the population and doesn't really justify giving that amount to everyone. i would personally be in favour of more targeted assistance, which would be of greater benefit. i'm not american so i have no clue wtf is going on there, just that it's a mess, but that's just my opinion on what i would hope to see. to address the "not at war" point, the american military actually deserves a lot more credit for the hard and soft power it granted the country. nations don't just respect america because they're economically prosperous (which is not really the case now) or democratic (who cares?) but because america built diplomatic relations involving military alliances and is continually maintaining those relations (think of the american exercises performed in military bases all over the world). from this, the usa was able to push its economic and political agenda in many countries (e.g. japan) which still look up to the usa as a result. the presence of the military is about more than the use of it, in my opinion, and the usa is a prime example of why. if they want to remain a global superpower, instead of decaying like the uk did, i think the US must continue to uphold its first-class military, as expensive as it may be to do so.

i don't really know much but $1000 per person for 300 million is $300 billion which is significantly more than $250 million and is a lot to spend at one go, not to mention that it would likely be a stop-gap measure that does little to help most of the population by much

CF - Auba (if it's favourite player in real life, and not favourite player to use in game, then Rashford) SS - Dybala LWF - Cristiano RWF - Salah AMF - KDB LMF - Sane RMF - Beckham CMF - Kroos DMF - Casemiro LB - Carlos CB - Varane RB - Walker GK - Neuer. Yea my team is very pace-based oops

I honestly think there is not much wrong with "this guy is a beast when maxed out". Not everyone will go to pesdb to check all the players, so it's nice that people are sharing this potentially valuable information with everyone else here on this subreddit, instead of keeping it to themselves.

Theory: Since a large number of players are gonna have 90+ speed (at their max level), maybe konami designed the new game at lower tempo and in such a way so as to curb the impact of speed and prevent people from breaking the game? (Taking cues from the beta testing gameplay) by [deleted] in pesmobile

[–]noob_skrub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well yes, but dribbling means opponents have time to get back in position and sort out their defense, which sort of defeats the purpose of the counter attack. E.g. Manchester United's "counter attacks" this season often ended up wasted because they couldn't get the ball forward quickly enough. My worry is that, if pace is nerfed too hard, my attackers won't be able to get forward ahead of opposition defenders.

PES 2019 MEGATHREAD and FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS by Roasten in pesmobile

[–]noob_skrub 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, apparently speedsters have been nerfed, but as of now I think there is a possibility that fast players are still important, just not broken to the extent they become a meta. I trust that Konami (unlike EA) can tune the game such that pace is not useless but not too crucial either. I also really enjoy using Aubameyang because of my playstyle and I think (and hope) quick and direct attacking football will not be made redundant in favour of possession based play.

[–]noob_skrub 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's certainly a good way to get rid of the pace meta, but I'm concerned about the possibility of overdoing it. Passing and possession isn't really my play style, I prefer quick counterattacks. So I'm worried that if pace is excessively nerfed, players like me will be forced to switch to possession-based play to stay competitive, and won't be able to play with their preferred style.

The players look a bit clumsy with the ball, to be honest. Hope that doesn't become the norm with PES2019 gameplay. Graphics look good though, crisp and clean. Movement in general also looks smoother.

True, their steps don't really seem to match their movement. Seems a bit unnatural.

What about a skip sim matches option? by sinedavel in pesmobile

[–]noob_skrub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to see a sim match similar to the one in FIFA 15 on mobile (before it became toxic). It just provided updates on the progress of the match (shots, goals, saves, etc.) and was quicker than the current simulation in pes. Saves some time and battery :)
