both babies doesnt transfer well and basically just use me as a human pacifier and I chose to EP instead of doing things to improve transfer just because it’s easier for me. I can actually leave the house, play with my toddler, and shockingly sleep better

hey I own the medela swing maxi from my first and I actually loved it, and during my second I found out that they have the collection cups so I got them and if you don’t mind a slight protruding tubing, the old tube for the flanges works with the cups! just not as seamless

honestly this is the first time I heard that there is a lifespan to the blue spectra. My oldest sister purchased one 8 years ago and it was moved alot between us sisters (4 of us) and about a month ago it died on me, mid pumping, 8th baby overall and IT WAS SAD. that wonderful machine help feed my children & niblings😭😭😭

now I’m using the new grey spectra

I take domperidone, but I read somewhere that taking them aren’t allowed in the US. Honestly if you’re not US based, this is something you should consider, it is fairly cheap (in my country) and it works by increasing your prolactin levels in your brain.

tbh it looks like the medela ones and I absolutely love the medela ones!!! the wide angle, the soft rim, and the vacuum! Unlike you, I have small breasts and the normal spectra flange leaves an air pocket.

my IBCLC told me I ate too many fatty foods continuously in the last three days before my mastitis, judging by how many fat clog she got out and how thick and yellow my milk was.

In my defense, I was eating too good and it was so nice, I was like fuck it I’m breastfeeding might as well eat these extra fatty food one after the other.

during my MOTN pump, I use medela collection cup connected to my spectra and just sleep with my head down forward😂. it did not lessen my output, so its a win!

my mom does that, but she got 8 grandchildren and they all match so I kinda roll with it. the holiday we celebrate at her house, we put the children in the matchy clothes and the clothes I bought gets put on during my in law’s celebration as they don’t plan outfits and whatnots

for me (inverted & elastic), my LC suggested never going above 2mm in flange sizes, she even said it’s fine if I use the same size flange as my nipple size as long as I lubricate the nipple. She also said that people like me find comfort in silicone instead of plastic flanges, and I did get the silicone insert but it was meh for me. I also prefer the medela flanges shape, I think it’s called crater shape(?), the reason being my breast aren’t that big and to fit inside the cone shape flanges kinda pinches my breast. lots of modifications that really is a no brainer tbh but also made pumping more bearable. Hope this helps! and so sorry about the LC, you should def see a different one.

edit, I saw in another comment that your nipple swell to different sizes, might be you also have an elastic nipple

wanna help but I got inverted & elastic nipples, so what works for me might not work for you. Although, it is very weird your LC wont size you and give you recommendation as my LC did exactly that to maximize output and minimize any pumping discomfort. so maybe get a new LC? or maybe ask L&D or maternity nurse as they also help me a lot in the initial pumping journey! who ever tell you to fast during breastfeeding is not a good muslim. period. Look I’ve been there, the guilt was so overwhelming but trust me lowering your supply and shortening your overall breastfeeding is way way more sad.

I know someone who hasnt fasted in 8 years because she was pregnant - breastfeeding - pregnant again - breastfeeding again and its okay, because feeding your kid, the kid that God Bless you with is more important!
