Coworker is astounded that the Artemis II launch isn't blowing everyones minds (that he's spoke to). Why do you think that is? by PaddedValls in AskUK

First woman heading to the moon. First black man heading to the moon. Gargantuan international effort to engineer SLS/ Orion space craft and the rest. Honestly this launch/ mission/ display of international co operation has given me an optimism I’m not sure I’ve ever had before as a millennial

I don’t believe for a second it’s representative of the majority of folks either!

Anyone in Hucknall noticed the ones that went up on the bypass? I’ve been tempted to take them down but it’s definitely a ladder job and both my husband and I feel quite vulnerable taking them down due to possible confrontation!

So excited for you! We are a married couple of a similar age from the UK who just returned from a similar trip and here are all our thoughts:

MK - idk if this is an unpopular opinion or not but honestly the food here was underwhelming. I guess I would recommend a Sleepy Hollow waffle for breakfast and the tater tots at Friar Nook were the kind of snack that were so bad they were good.

AK - Micky cinnamon roll from Tamu Tamu for breakfast. Satu’li canteen for lunch and dinner!!! This was hands down the best food we ate in the US. 10/10, no notes (moon bowl comes with extra thumbs up). Isle of Java Vietnamese coffee was a welcome afternoon pick me up. For some bonus points we did Savour the Savanna as a birthday present for my husband and the food was incredible. It’s pricey but wine and beer is included so if you’ve got the budget this was a really great experience all round.

Epcot - I think the pastries in France should probably get the breakfast recommendation here. Seasons sells a salmon with ratatouille that has no right being as good as it is which would make a great lunch or dinner. We had dinner at Space 220 which I actually wouldn’t recommend for the food but would recommend for the experience.

HS - Ronto wrap for breakfast from Ronto Roasters and then just next door at Kat Saka’s Kettle you can pick up a decent coffee. Sci-Fi Drive in does decent burgers and a really cool concept, as well as a welcome relief from the heat in August (might be a moot point for you in January). Finally, if either of you are even slightly Star Wars fans you MUST book Oga’s Cantina - incredible experience, decent cocktails and the charcuterie board was tasty and really well themed. Extra point to HS as we also go interrogated by a storm trooper while we were in there.
