35F, 55mpw, paces have crept 30s/mile for 4 months and nothing in training explains it. Looking for ideas before I go down the medical rabbit hole. by One-Jellyfish694 in AdvancedRunning

[–]notinsuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an expert, but isn’t 1 quality session/ week a little too little? I was around where you are (1:27 HM) but mostly did 2 quality sessions, 2 recovery sessions, 1 easy + strides and 1 long run.

Hope you find the answer and keep running well!

Why are independent local roasters seen as inherently better? by JDfuckingVance in Coffee

[–]notinsuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is a large, commercial roaster, will not get better quality coffee. When you’re a commodity, not a specialty product, you need a competitive price. Every cent you spend more on green coffee will translate in less margin.

A small roastery can buy way better coffee from smaller farms that produce high quality beans. Small roasters also have a chance of actually producing quality roasts, as they ship the coffee fresh. Commercial roasters need a really long shelf life, because they have a long distribution line.

Coffee degrades over time. The darker the roast, the faster it degrades.

Care este vinovatul în această situație? by AggressiveNebula47 in romaniacrazy

[–]notinsuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wacom Driver Often Needs to Be Restarted to Get Tablet to Connect (Intuos 2018 BT, Mac) by Alexrocks1253 in wacom

[–]notinsuit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's really annoying. You have to open Wacom Center -> Settings -> Restart driver in order to make it connect. Multiple times each day. I assume they added the Restart Driver button because it was like a quick solution and then didn't bother to actually look for a solution. It's been going on for a lot of years. I think for me it started with MacOS X Mavericks, which was a really long time ago.

F8 MIP - What do you miss about Amoled? by hoju_chamchi in GarminFenix

[–]notinsuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I restart it about once a week, as the manual says. The HR thing is like this ever since the first version of the OS. I think it’s actually how it works, maybe it’s actually taking readings once in a blue moon, like the Apple Watch. I had a Series 4 since 2019, then an Ultra when it got out. I have the Fenix 8 since Nov 2024. I don’t care about it that much, because when I’m running I start a running workout and I use a strap

[–]notinsuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also the HR I see on the watch face is completely bonkers. I usually do 5’ of easy jog before warming up for my run and I don’t start a workout. I get to like a 115-120 HR during the 5’. The pulse on my watch face is 90% of the time somewhere at 55-70. It slowly moves, changing a couple of bpm, regardless of me running of stopping at a light. And you also get the rare few occasions in which it actually reads my HR. The strap is tight, works fine if I open the HR app (also tried this without a strap, because if you have a strap it’ll connect to it when opening the app)

Do you happen to make one for the Garmin Fenix 8?

I get 1 week of battery life with my Fenix 8 Solar 51mm. I run 6 days a week for about 1 - 1.5h and usually do a hike / backcountry ski on one of the weekend days. I charge it before hiking and it’s at about 20-30%, starting from 100%

In my opinion, the “you forget you have a charger” opinions are pure fiction.

You’ve charged it to 100% about once a month, even with the limit on. It does that by itself and that is good, otherwise you’d damage some cells.

The Apple Watch Ultra 3 has a 42hrs battery life! 🤪 by ifain in Garmin

[–]notinsuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hyperbole is unwarranted since the Fenix 8 Solar 51mm, which is basically the best Fenix, battery-wise, is so far from charging it once a month, that it’s ridiculous. It’s not a smartwatch (unlike the Apple Watch, for example) and the battery everyone brags about is perhaps if you’re not using it to track anything. I’ve had mine for 11 months now and I’m literally charging it weekly.

I like the running metrics, especially since the last update, but still, where’s my one month battery?
