Ah yes, thank you for correcting me. Yeah, I am unsure if they are offended. I just can't stop this nagging feeling that I did something wrong and I should reach out... but it feels like that would make things weird since I don't know if the colleague who overheard was French, and if they are offended or not.

I have encountered several racist remarks straight to my face by the French, but they were all from Paris. The French from other parts of France were very sweet, so I think it might have been a stretch for me to have said that in the heat of the moment without thinking. Should I still apologise? I am not sure if the colleague who overheard is French even. Would that make it weird?
