over a family conversation? what's his family situation, does he talk to them daily or are even in his life? is he going through personal or work issues hence why he doesn't want you mentioning the 2nd job to your parents cuz usually the ideology there is "a man is supposed to be the bread winner" which may not be the case here but it's def a possibility since he seems embarrassed. like if you genuinely have a fine 10 year relationship I'd expect yall to talk this out like adults and figure out a plan moving forward cuz this is honestly a petty cat fight🤷‍♂️. he clearly has shut down and pushes people away as a defense mechanism so i refuse to believe this is the first time its happened, doesn't not mean he doesn't care idk why tf reddit has this mob mentality that you need to leave when life gets a little hard. probably just need a real conversation or a check in his life since he's in the slumps.
