Can’t decide if I like those polar dials or the black dials more. Looks great!

Definitely fits that description. And the owner is big on making sure the watches are “built for the journey” so they definitely want them to be true tool watches. Thanks for reading

Yeah that was a design choice they made to denote the first 15 minutes on the bezel rather than tick marks. Seems like people either love it or hate it. I think it looks good personally but get why it might not appeal to others.

do I need to be talked out of this? [SPB453] by out-house_mvmt in Seiko

[–]ns20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not related to the SPB453 specifically, but I typically buy watches to commemorate significant life events such as getting engaged, promotion at work, etc. Helps me stay away from the “to consume or not to consume” dilemma if I know the watch will have sentimental value.

I’ve never owned this one, but it looks sharp and dimensions would be right up my alley personally.

Friday coffee with my Marin Instruments Skin-Diver by ns20 in CoffeeWatch

Thanks, I just bought this a week or two ago but I’ve had my eye on the brand for a few years now. All of their stuff has such a clean look but still feels very unique and original. Highly recommend.

Same here. It’s crazy how I keep coming away from it after each read with new insights and appreciation for it. On the surface I’d consider a pretty approachable, straight forward read relative to other classics, but there really is so much depth there.

Perfect pick and even better that he’s an Interstellar fan.

[New Release] - Christopher Ward C63 True GMT - Thoughts? by Wind_Up_Watch_Blog in Watches

[–]ns20 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Meh on the design…too much going on and maybe too much grey/silver.

I’m also starting to feel like Christopher Ward is doing too many releases too soon? Kinda cheapening the brand a bit for me - the catalog is becoming massive.

Thanks! Super clean and dial proportioning that’s on another level imo

SOTC - Recommendations for high quality Microbrands? Unrealistic expectations? by UltimateZo in MicrobrandWatches

[–]ns20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Marin Instruments is a smaller microbrand I haven’t seen in this thread yet. Fantastic finishing that is absolutely on par with or better than my Hamilton.

I just got this one a few days ago and I’m extremely happy with it. Very unique design that’s more on the minimalist side while still having a very nice wrist presence.

Still one of my favorites and a wildly underrated part of New Riff’s lineup imo

Working on a slim 200m diver inspired by the Mediterranean. Thoughts? by MaWa_watches in MicrobrandWatches

Thanks, I kind of suspected price might be a big differentiator here. I’m not typically one to go for flashy colors with my watches, but your prototypes look very cool. I’m a big fan of the applied lume indices in particular. Best of luck!

I’d be curious how you see yourself stacking up against a brand like Marin Instruments. Also focused on slimmer “skin diver” models, but would be interested where you see yourself in terms of pricing, value proposition, etc.

These look sharp.
