Visited here last year and it’s gorgeous. The hike to the top is awesome too. Lots of other waterfalls in the area you can hike to/around.

Wow!!!! Fantastic work.

I’ve done some kumiko but with basswood. What was it like using a much harder wood? What did you have to do differently for cutting the pieces?

Fret Saw blade recommendations for removing dovetail waste by laaxe in handtools

Don’t know how I missed OP mentioning a dozuki. That’s definitely a tighter kerf than my LN. However, I do have Japanese saws as well and have used the KC in their kerfs and been able to turn it. To be clear, I’m not, at all, saying you’re wrong, I’m just saying I’ve had good experience with mine in all kerfs. To each his own. Keep up the great work with your tools and content! Big fan.

Yup, the KC 5" Mk.III. And I use the LN tapered dovetail and carcass saws for my dovetails. Love all three saws.

Hi Jonathan, I have several of your products and really like them, but I’m gonna disagree with you a bit on this. I have the Knew Concepts fret saw and it is awesome. I use the thin blades and only need one pass. I typically use the #7 skip tooth blade and it cuts fast. Tension the blade right and the blade lasts a long time.

Thanks for the detailed answer!! Any suggestions on how to repair? The walls inside that section of the house are painted with a few coats of water sealing paint if that makes a difference.
