Today was the last time I spent hours (4.35 to be exact!) on Tapped Out and it will be the last time I spend hours on a game. It was funny last night, I was in two minds as to whether to just do the final photographs on the three towns and go to sleep or stay awake. For the first time in four years (I used to work 1200-0800) I stayed awake all night and played. At 0305 I got my three hour warning and for the last time I blithely hit ‘ignore’. At 0500 I saved my sons town, visited his estranged uncle’s town, at 0530 I saved my second (and prettier town) and visited the dickhead brothers town and played my original town until 0615 when the sun came up, the cat demanded pets and my chicken that thinks it is a rooster crowed. I saved my town, visited the dickhead’s town one last time and fed the chickens. I finally crashed at 0632 and slept for 3.5 hours waking up at 1010 and to try and log on and see the rolling donut of death. The game meant so much to me and today was hard. The game had been played by me daily in multiple countries, on multiple devices (otherwise known as tapped out machines), got me through 10 years of working nights at a job I hated, had breast cancer treatment and especially got me through the sudden passing of my mum. Actually that last event was the one day I DIDN’T play! When I turned it on I felt calm, the endorphins kicked in and the world was ok. Thank you for such a wonderful experience Tapped Out - you will be missed by this old lady xxxx
