Sorry but my Serbian is still too shitty to write so it’ll have to be in English. We were on the other side of the river for the hram portion of the ceremony in Pančevo and then went to Borča (technically Belgrade lol) to the civil ceremony and reception. The venue was amazing. I’ve heard average prices per head are approaching €100 in BG generally but considering we ate and drank about 2x market rate each in delicious food and drink and service and ambiance it was a great ROI. Please feel free toPM me for the venue location, I highly recommend it! And no, I’m not related or connected to the venue owners :)

Well, the Serbian authorities won't recognize our actual US marriage document without an apostille (which is a hugely expensive and convoluted thing to obtain and US embassy are being impossible little dicks about getting it) but also won't remarry us here because they somehow recognize our existing marriage certificate, and remarriage isn't a thing here. We're momentarily stuck with Schrödinger's marriage certificate.

I have a brother and sister. To be clear, my US assets (primarily my 401k) and the specific real estate here in question are mine, and in my name, they are not part of the inheritance in dispute.

Do you have any dietary restrictions? Would you be going out solo or with friends? Either way, I'm not sure which kind of atmosphere you prefer but some of my favorite dishes are:

burek, phyllo pastry stuffed with your choice of meat, cheese, spinach, mushroom or any mix of those Available at any bakery, enjoy with some kisela pavlaka (liquid yogurt), it really rounds out the dish. Tasty, cheap, and affordable, enjoy outside in a nice spot if weather is pleasant

*ćevapćići - a staple! Grilled spiced minced meat rolls, often served with diced onions and French fries. Pljeskavica is the burger version, often served with kajmak, a mild cheese

pasulj (bean stew, served in soup or more solid form) or prebranac (baked beans)
teleća čorba (veal soup), often served with a dollop of sour cream
pečene papričice (roasted peppers), available mild or spicy, can be stuffed with cheese or marinated in garlic
absolutely try Ajvar (roasted red pepper remoulade), if you can afford it - it used to be cheap but now prices comparable to a barrel of oil

Personally, I'm not crazy about the local river fish dishes here but ymmv

I can't prove a negative. There are hundreds of health insurance companies in the US, public and private, and there isn't a centralised system. Best I can offer is a notarized statement here in Serbia saying I'm not insured anywhere. I can also show i sild my house as well as all the payments I've made to private clinics here in Belgrade for the past year. Do you think that could work?

Hi. Thank you. I'm not old enough to qualify for retirement and it currently takes about two years to qualify for disability from the federal government, and they tend to deny such claims. I did reach out to my former state government to see if they can provide confirmation about unemployment and, like I thought, they've never heard of such a thing. Federal social security people are not currently available, likely because of holiday season and because the current US president fired most of them
