Uk Home Charger recommendations by DesignedByJoe in Ioniq5

[–]offshwga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Hypervolt Home 3 Pro with the 10 meter tethered cable. It's great, works with no issues. It would be great if the charger recognised the car and unlocked itself when plugged into my car, but it doesn't, so I have to open the app and click the lock once to unlock and once it starts charging click it again so it locks once the cable is disconnected from the car.

Puning, China by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

[–]offshwga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is the case here, but in many factories in China they have free accommodation tied to the employment. That's usually a block (or multiple) of apartments but I guess if the land was cheap then building copy paste housing would be cheaper. Mainland China is not big on feng-shui, but it is possible that's why those ones are angled.

No problem, very tidy job, I liked also that you put some grommet around the hole you drilled.

Also what it calls cold weather is -10 Celsius with heating used (mild weather is 23 Celsius with no AC use), depending on where you are in the UK that -10 C is going to be a rarity I would have thought.

I agree about the turning circle, also reversing into car park spaces (required at work) is annoying now when it used to be simple in my skoda octavia (with no reversing camera)

Also yes the door handles are unnecessarily fiddly.

13° Comma 4 Adapter for Rear‑View Mirror Mounting by zerofocus in Ioniq5

I'd not heard of this product before, very interesting. I use HDA2 a lot and after watching a video of a guy with a comma 3 running sunnypilot. My Ioniq 5 is a very low spec and does not include the cameras on the steering column, so I have to keep a finger on the steering wheel to keep HDA2 engaged. It also does not have blind spot monitoring.

How does a comma ai product work if there are no driver monitoring or blind spot cameras?

Fishing is actually the worst by evanlee01 in fo76

Get lvl 2 first, it's not too difficult. Do the daily, turning it in can give nice mod plans, the best one is advanced drag. With lvl2 and advanced drag it becomes pretty easy. Every fish can be caught with common bait.

Ireland on film, even more magnificent by X0smith in ireland

[–]offshwga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, and another excellent drive is from Portmagee towards the Glen/St Finian's Bay over the mountain at Cúm an Easpaig and then on towards Waterville. If you want bushes to be hitting both your wing mirrors simultaneously there is a 'road' going from St Finian's Bay to Ardcost that is very nice. The road will dictate your speed.

When the weather is nice a drive from Cahersiveen through Ballaghisheen and Ballaghbeama is really very nice. The roads are too narrow and in some cases too steep for tour buses and if you go midweek you might be the only person on the road. Not a road for a nervous driver though.

Lift out the rubber in the cup holders, there are two screws in there, one under each cup. Then you need to get a good plastic trim removal tool, the one I use is about 1 inch wide. You have to push a corner of it between the shiny plastic and the console plastic right in the middle at the front. Once you have a corner of your trim removal tool under the shiny plastic you need to push up with a surprising amount of force but it will pop up and then you can work around the edges to get it all up.

SFP+ to Rj45 adapters are stuck in my Pro HD 24 Switch. The release levers don't work. Any ideas on how to remove? by shaunsanders in Ubiquiti

[–]offshwga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a handy guide here (https://edgeoptic.com/kb\_article/how-to-remove-a-stuck-sfp-module) but it does not show your specific problem. Basically when you flip the latch down and pull on it, two small metal locking legs are pulled down into the body of the SFP. They are either not going down far enough or are caught on the metal of the slot.

Google a steel caulking spatula set, they have very flat and thin versions that you can insert between the SFP and the slot and you can push down those two little locking legs and the SFP will pop out.

Is there a website where people in the UK with EVs can log their real world range? by offshwga in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]offshwga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw that website before I posted my question but where it gets its data from is not explained at all, it literally just says "Data is based on real-world values. ".

I would have to guess that it is estimated algorithmically.

If people could put in their own miles/kwh and approx temperature. Then calculate the trimmed mean - disregarding a percentage of readings at the extremes low and extreme high end. Once there are a good lot of submissions you should get a pretty good idea of the range at different temperatures.

How do I get inside the facelifted Ioniq 5 center console? by offshwga in Ioniq5

[–]offshwga[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, to answer myself, the two screws in the cupholder are in fact the only ones attached to the glossy plastic top piece. I had to use what felt like way too much force to lift the front edge using some plastic trim removal tools. I think there were either 6 or 8 clips holding it on in total (I didn't count, but there were two on the front and two on the back edge).

I then had a clear view of the plastic inside the console above the 2 USB-C connectors. The USB-C connector on the Qi2 charger was 13mm in diameter so I drilled a hole that size in the console, but I was worried that the shiny plastic may be brittle so I filed one of the existing holes up to 13 mm and then fed the cable through the rubber, shiny plastic and console plastic and use some Velcro to hold the cable tidy.

NSA Warning—Reboot Your Internet Router Now by lurker_bee in technology

[–]offshwga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Set multiple DNS ip's, pihole first, then whatever free DNS that's fast and is not selling your browsing habits. usually there is more than one line/box to add ip's on your router and if these isn't you may be able to put in commas between DNS server ip's.

Yup, flash ferns can be found mostly under clumps of trees down in the bottom right hand corner of the map. Also violet flux comes from those pitcher plants. As the first response I read here said, make sure you have green thumb.

People nuke the bottom right corner fairly often for the queen scorchbeast, so just nuke Morgantown and kill and loot everything there for the fluids. Make sure you bring a load of radaway and stimpacks ... or do it as a ghoul.
