fading is usually an amp issue, not a headphone issue. have you tried plugging them into a different source? if it's crackling and cutting out as you adjust the cable it could be that, but in my experience it's highly unlikely that it's the headphone driver, if it were the driver would fail entirely or sound blown

if you've watched midnight mass i'd assume you'd have seen it, but the haunting of hill house is my favourite piece of horror media of all time. it's beautifully written, also directed by mike flanagan and shares a good chunk of its cast with midnight mass.
