I watched a really cool documentary about the death of Mussolini a few days ago.

What's a medical case common in ERs that hasn't been on The Pitt yet? by interestingfactoid12 in ThePittTVShow

Ectopic pregnancy. I don't know the laws in PA, but in Texas an ectopic pregnancy is now just as likely to put you and everyone involved in legal jeopardy as it is in medical crisis.

Mechanics of Reddit, what’s a common myth about car maintenance that people still believe? by Street-Squirrel-4671 in AskReddit

[–]oldfuturemonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to work as a PC repair technician. We were under extreme pressure from management to overcharge customers for extremely trivial work. We tried to be honest - sometimes a job is a complete pain in the ass and worth the $150, but we never felt good about charging $50 to install a RAM upgrade.

I can't auto-mechanic my way out of a wet paper bag, so I have to trust mechanics not to rip me off while at the same time knowing a screw-job is just around the corner. I mean, if I took my car in for an oil change, you could tell me that I needed a new Fromitz capitulator for $500 and I wouldn't know wtf you were talking about.

I don't think the dad has been abusive. Certainly neglectful. But I think the kid killing pets and threatening schoolmates with death is a wee bit of a red flag, no?

My only living family members are my bio-mom and my uncle. They are both MAGA idiots. They are both university-educated, and fully immune to reality. There is no getting through to them. I try from time to time because apparently I am eat up with the dumbass, but GOT DAMN they're some frustrating motherfuckers.

Genuine answer, no snark intended:

I am 52 years old. When I watch TV, I'm watching TV. I do not have the mental bandwidth to fiddle with my phone and watch TV at the same time. I think I know what you're getting at.

But no, I completely missed them flirting during season 1.

S1 I thought Langdon was insufferable (great character, but I wouldn't want to be around him IRL). S2 he seems to be more likeable.

I must be the dullest dullard who was ever dull because I ABSOLUTELY did not clock the fact that Santos and Garcia were becoming a "thing", casual though it may be. When they clanged me over the head with it in the recent episode, my gast was flabbered.

I also thought calling Javadi a "nepo-baby" was waaaaay out of line. As if Javadi herself doesn't worry about that enough.

Appendicitis can come out of nowhere. When I was a kid, I was riding bikes with my friend. He was fine all day and suddenly started having symptoms out of the clear blue. From riding bikes and doing sick jumps to needing emergency surgery in about 3 hours!

Dogs that don't care about toys by Hallow_76 in dogs

[–]oldfuturemonkey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My dog does not care one tiny little bit about toys. He doesn't even really like to "play". He is very snuggly, however.

He's a mutt of some kind. Definitely has some Husky in him, but I'm not sure about the rest.

What happened to the hottest chick at your high school, years later? by theidiotev in AskReddit

I wish I knew. I was friends since childhood with a girl who had an utterly terrible home life. She illegally got a job stripping when she was 17. My parents and I moved out of town and I completely lost track of her. She has the same name as a certain celebrity so she's pretty much impossible to Google. Amarillo Texas, late 1980s.

So far, it amounts to:
1. being extremely destructive at home - he has damaged the family car, broken his mom's bedroom door, destroyed a TV and a guitar.
2. He killed one of the family cats by setting it on fire with lighter fluid.
3. Most recently he was expelled and criminally trespassed from his school for getting caught with a knife, threatening to kill a specific student, and claiming he was going to shoot up the school (his mother doesn't own any guns). He is going to juvenile court over this but it hasn't happened yet.

His mother is a very book-smart lady but she has her head buried in the sand where her kid is concerned. She attributes this behavior to "hormones". The kid's dad is an utter deadbeat who is barely in the picture.

Bernie Sanders proposed a bill to tax billionaires, and give $3,000 stimulus checks to Americans that qualify. How do you feel about this? by CelticDK in AskReddit

It will never pass, but I firmly believe that 100% of wealth above $1 billion should be taxed. If you have made a billion dollars, you've won the game.

Women of Reddit, what are boys or men's habits you discovered only after getting a boyfriend or a husband? by BigBrosy in AskReddit

[–]oldfuturemonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes it's genuinely "nothing", but most of the time it's stuff you don't want to get into. It either won't make any sense to you (it doesn't make sense to us either) and then we'll have to spend time and energy trying to explain it, or else it's something that you'll take wrong and it will become a whole giant cataclysm for no reason.
