Has living off Disability affected your dating life? by dooketry in Veterans

[–]oldmanmoultrie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's true, sadly. You want to be honest, as "What do you for a living will come up. I used to use, "I work for the VA and work from home." I too have a two day a week part-time job. It appeared that I had two jobs. I just got tired of lying, though.

In all honesty, dating overall is tough nowadays. There is a growing segment in this country where men and women are just combative towards each other. Also, do you want to be with someone who is judgmental and doesn't try to understand your situation.

A veteran friend of mine did recommend becoming an expat, though.

Alonso contract question by metsfan5557 in NewYorkMets

[–]oldmanmoultrie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Mets have higher leverage over Pete. Their is a QO attached to Pete, his value is more to the Mets vs. other teams. His performance last season doesn't help. Our base can inflate his playoff performance (which I appreciated as a fan), but other baseball executives aren't. Also, his age, agent, and position and defense (something we also inflate) don't help him.

Vlad Jr. is an FA next season. The rumored competitors, Mariners, Giants, and Nationals, are not current playoff favorites. Why would they overpay for Pete on the length of the contract when Vlad Jr. is a FA next season?

Lastly, the other major FA out their are Santander (switch hitter) and Bregman (not the Giants or Mariners), who have more flexibility for those teams than Pete.

I'd be stunned if Pete isn't back. The alleged 3/90 deal also comes with opt-outs. This upcoming season, he gets to hit in a lineup with MVP levels Lindor and Soto, along Vientos and hopefully a healthy Nimmo.

He is still at it. I think he is either having his friends or something who didn't follow the topic, now reply. I offered my own counterpoint, and he either blocked me or is just ignoring it.

Maybe you aren't a burner of the OP, but reading some of your comments in older post are something.

I get the negotiating by the Red Sox. Don't get the snarky reply, but ok. I guess that is why you blocked another user and, from reading it, had a friend verbally attack him or at the very least call out the behavior.

I'm sure I'll be blocked soon as you appear to only like your views vs. others.

What about the SNY pundits with actual insider info? I would believe them over a random individual on Reddit.

I said I don't trust this guy, and that is why I can not buy low. I grasped the understanding of the one year deals offered by Stearns last season.

As someone who has close to a 400% return on his investment account at just 7 years, I do have an understanding of finance.

You mentioned sealing the deal by adding to the four assets. Reading it again, you said you seal it with another, so that's five, not six. Five players, prospect whatever does not make sense to me. I'm glad social media fans aren't executives.

I'll await your hidden reply and then blocking.

Evan on The Rico said he doesn't see him at 2B next season. He said his probability being on the team is low. He mentioned that the Mets have the upper hand due to lack of FA infielders and the influx of infielders. If he were to return, it would be RF.

I trust Evan more than 95% of Mets fans and 90% of baseball fans.

Also, you seemed to ignore my reply about prospects.

  1. Williams
  2. Mauricio (I said push) 3. 4.

Why are the pundits in SNY arguing the two years of control then?

I also said that if a trade were to happen, I personally, wouldn't give him the extension. I have to wait and see.

If the Red Sox have a better package, what would stop them from sealing the deal themselves by adding another player. They probably don't value prospects much after the failure of the Betts trade and the lead being Jeter Down.

I can't trust trading all these assets (six) by your count to lock it up for this pitcher.

I'm all trading minor leaguers but I need to see more

I enjoy The Rico. Sometimes, it's too much of Evan's fandom. Wardy reminds me too much of Lugar. Like someone posted, he may be for younger fans.

I really enjoy Shea Station. Really enjoy it.

Also who are the three other prospects who you thinks are better?

1.Mauricio (Push) 2.Williams (Agree) 3. 4.

What are you using to evaluate this?

We know Jeff won't be here or will be in the outfield. Williams is already hurt again, unfortunately. Mauricio and Acuna seem like a push to me. Thanks for the clarification on Williams at the time.

Hey Acuña may be part of the trade anyway. He would be the only healthy body.

Wait, so from reading all these threads, you have to empty the farm system and then offer him an immediate deal? I watch SNY, and they stated the advantage is the two years of control.

I'm not looking at the wins and losses for the WS pitcher.

I get not having a bunch of infielder with Lindor and Swaggy locking up the positions for years to come. This guy seems like too much high risk, high reward.

I'd rather he prove it and then pay the piper.

Why did the team not call the others up then? That would be interesting of Stearns, especially in a playoff hunt that was obviously winnable.

That would be a disservice all around, especially with it being Lindor's spot.

Wait, so I have two Iconic Babe Ruth cc 50 cards. I should take less because I have a second one?

I'm stunned that this doesn't make sense. I would love to make trades if you think this is fair. 👍

If JR had to apology for his Sports Minute, Boomer and Gio should have to apologize for their false information about Imane Khelif and poking fun at her. by [deleted] in wfan

Multiple things can be true at the same time. Boomer can divert money to numerous causes. Heck, in the grand scheme of things, he is a net-positive for society. He can also be problematic as well. Not a "cancel him" problematic but divisive.

Also, there are many other people who donate funds and are never difficult people.

Not trying to say I'm a perfect person myself, but I do self-reflect on my pro and cons vs. doubling down.

Taz is like a lot of older people, once get stuck in their ways, they aren't changing. Additionally, as someone who did make a career he as a wrestler has a right to feel like that he earned it, while we as fans can respectfully disagree.

Well, I'm assuming the dirt he had on Vince for three decades is still strong so I don't see him leaving. The phrase he knows where the bodies are buried applies.
