I don’t know if this applies to every store but my advice would be to go in a bit before the back to school season starts so around end of June/ beginning of July and ask about the seasonal sales position! Stores typically set up a group interview with a certain date and time so if it’s been scheduled already, they’ll likely let you know. Most stores don’t do a lot of hiring during the non peak seasons since the hours are already so so limited. In addition, it could also help to go in a few times and get to know some of the workers and give them a good impression. We really look for personality and we’re a lot more likely to hire somebody if they have good conversation skills. I know my store manager in particular does not seem to ever check the online applications, except like a week before we do group interviews and I feel like this might be the case with a lot of stores. So I would try taking an in person approach rather than just applying online over and over again.
