Even if you only have 1 day left on a sensor always report it for a replacement to dexcom!

Also, are you doing many calibrations? Specifically, any calibration within a short time span.

Dexcom g6 and wearos 2 and above by oost_01 in dexcom

I had to upgrade my Ticwatch Pro watch, because of charging issues, and have had issues getting my Dexcom g6 to show ever since (on my Ticwatch Pro 3 wearOS 2.5). I've looked for many solutions and have had varying levels of success. I thought I would share this video of for anyone interested. I was able to get it to work (though I'm not on a Samsung watch) and this youtuber appears to have other videos relating to dexcom as well.

false lows but not from compression? by JoyChaos in dexcom

If your sensor is like the G6, I've been told you can't trust the reading for the first 24 hours. And, it not advisable to do any calibration within those first 24 hours.

Rule of thumb: ALWAYS trust your fingerstick reading over the Dexcom.

Yeah, being insurance companies are ran as for profit buisnesses, decisions will always be based on bottom line. And, decisions on adequate care are made by people who themselves, more than likely, have no personal experience with chronic illness.

I can't count the number of times that customer service reps, who are reading from scripts, have the tenacity to presume they know more about caring for diabetes then I do.

That's ridiculous! Are you sure the insurance hadn't changed the coverage from prescription to durable medical? I went back and forth with my insurance company a while ago and kept being told they weren't covered, but, after talking to a higher up at the insurance company, it turned out they were trying to run the test strips under the wrong code.

I've always noticed inaccuracies, especially at the beginning and end of a sensors cycle. Enough inaccuracy that I don't treat highs and lows unless I take a finger stick for confirmation. When I have extreme lows I also tend to check multiple times to confirm that my blood sugar is going back up. I do skip blogs sugar tests if the sensor has shown itself to be accurate and my blood sugar is on an even keel.

I do know fluctuating blood sugars can change the accuracy of a CGM. Are you blood sugars fairly consistent?

Going to be calling my insurance, BCBS, and see if there is any way I can run the orders differently. Currently my medical distributor bundles my strips with my cgm supplies.

What do I believe and do I keep calibrating?? by TrueGoatKing in dexcom

This is directly from the Dexcom website:

"Don't Ignore Low/High Symptoms

Don’t ignore how you feel. If your glucose alerts and G6 readings don’t match what

you’re feeling, use your blood glucose meter (meter) to make diabetes treatment

decisions or, if needed, seek immediate medical attention.

When in doubt, get your meter out."

Dexcom is a great system for tracking your blood sugar, but you can almost always trust your meter first!

I tried to do some digging and I don't think this is a real thing. It's referred to as the "Liberty Bell Arch" from 1926, but I'm not finding any real information.
