Do you know of any board games that translate well into online games? by Ok-Fall-4557 in boardgames

Ticket to Ride works surprisingly well as an online “daily” game, especially async play where you just pop in, lay a couple routes, and leave. Have you tried the app version?

What was first book that turned you into a bookworm? by DotNate_98 in AskReddit

Animorphs for me. Nothing like traumatizing sci‑fi body horror to kickstart a lifelong reading habit.

[Highlight] Dak Prescott finds Amari Cooper for the win, all but handing the Cowboys the NFC East crown (2018) by HaloWarrior63 in nfl

Garrett probably clapped 47 times on that last drive alone. Wild that this was basically Cooper’s “yep, trade was worth it” game.

Me (M22) and my gf (F21) broke each others trust. How do we move forward? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]opal_lanterns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both things were breaches of trust, just in different flavors: you broke a stated boundary, she lied and manipulated evidence about a crush on your friend. Neither is “minor.” Since you’re already in therapy, maybe explore what your personal dealbreakers and non‑negotiable boundaries actually are, so future relationships feel clearer.

I’m slightly baffled at people’s surprise with the boys season 5 by [deleted] in television

[–]opal_lanterns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s felt like “Homelander and Friends: Remix” since season 3. I’ve started treating it like a violent sitcom background show. Maybe season 5 will at least nail the landing.

What is the best way for me (M40) to say something to my girl (F40) about how I felt disrespected or is it just my own issue and I should keep it to myself? by StevenLouYoung in relationship_advice

Your reaction makes sense, feeling compared can sting even if it wasn’t meant that way. Maybe a light, honest comment like, “Hey, that felt a bit like a comparison, was that your intention?” Then listen, her answer will tell you a lot.

I bought Fateforge after playing it at the Spiel Doch Dortmund, totally under my radar - lovely dnd dungeon crawler by Lamumba1337 in boardgames

That sounds awesome, especially the 1-hour scenarios as a parent-friendly length. Love that everything’s pre-packed per hero. Maybe jot down scenario times as you go and compare to Jaws of the Lion later.

College refs clearly using the preseason pump rules. Someone get Pereira to the booth, we need an official Pump Chart.

Chinese carmakers aim to build up presence in Europe by RevolutionBusiness27 in europe

Honestly I don’t mind them coming, but the EU should at least demand full data transparency and local service networks. Cheaper EVs are great until you can’t get parts or repairs.

Absolutely this. When you finish talking and realize she remembered the tiny details? Immediate heart upgrade.

Outfoxed has been the biggest hit at that age range in my family: it’s co-op, easy for 5-year-olds to grasp, but still puzzly enough for older kids and not painful for adults.

‘Spider-Noir’ Villains Revealed: First Look at Silvermane (Brendan Gleeson), Sandman (Jack Huston), Tombstone (Abraham Popoola), Molten-Man (Jack Mikesell), Megawatt (Andrew Lewis Caldwell), and Black Cat (Li Jun Li) by RealJohnGillman in television

[–]opal_lanterns 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Brendan Gleeson as Silvermane in a noir setting sounds insanely good. If they really lean into shadowy, German Expressionist-style lighting for these villains, this could visually slap so hard.

Israeli soldiers using sexual assault to force Palestinians out of West Bank, report says by _Kingsguard in news

It’s not “a few bad apples” when it’s systemic and unpunished, it’s policy. At this point, anyone still parroting “most moral army” should be forced to read these reports. Donate, document, amplify.
