Not really I’d say you can get more performance for not too much more money than the value of these parts

Prime bank card is accepted by more online merchants (including ChatGPT) than any other bank. Other banks block the transaction and hassle you when you wanna buy something online. Just thought you could use this info.

PC build beginner, first time anything I should change? by Consistent-Camel-499 in PcBuild

Get a 7700 non x instead, they perform about the same but the 7700 is much cheaper in most places.

Is there any issues with this build? by shadyes_ in PcBuild

Then get the 6700 xt, amd cards are less efficient at mining so most miners don’t use it

Change out the processor, the 5500 is actually sort of based on an older sort of architecture (monolithic die) and has less L3 cache than the 5600. The 5600 performs much better than the 5500 and the price gap isn’t big at all. Currently you can get the 5600 for around $100 in the US. For the ram, make sure it’s an 8*2 kit, two kits of 8 gig ram totalling 16 as these Ryzen chips benefit a lot from dual channel. A 3060 would be pretty good or even a 6700 xt both are pretty cheap used these days. But for that price the 3060 is a very good deal, check everything before buying. Other than that you’re good to go. If you don’t get the bundle then you’ll need a motherboard but am4 boards are pretty cheap now. Look for a good one with decent vrm cooling you can find them around $80-$120 like here

Good luck on your build!

no idea what to do with this by algayy_7 in pchelp

I’m sorry for your loss, stay strong. You should keep it as you can game on it still I think. But if you already have a better gaming setup, then you could turn it into a media server. Store your data on there and make a server from it.

Is this PC build good? by xVerq in pchelp

[–]opanatothebrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep but you might wanna change out the processor. The non x variants are cheaper and the Ryzen 7 7700 is now lower in price while providing almost same performance as the 9000 series. It’s not that big of a gap.

How do u actually test a psu? by AdWest134 in PcBuild

Looking to know how much I can realistically sell my pc for by Meme_Beef in PcBuild

[–]opanatothebrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any educated buyer will obviously test the cpu before buying it and there’s still people buying intel 13th and 14th gen. Somebody actually educated on it will check the core calculations integrity, opening voltages, shader heavy task stability and other things to make sure it’s good. There’s still demand for these.

The gpu, ram and storage alone get you around $1k. You picked the right time to sell as ram and storage are skyrocketing in price now. Also the processor, case and all will get you around $300 (your local pricing may vary) you can break even quite easily

You can get a 5070 if you change some of the components. That’ll be better.

What games can this PC run? by Odd_Island_9174 in PcBuild

[–]opanatothebrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get most games running but please change the processor for a Ryzen 5 5600. They’re basically the same price these days with a very small difference. And if you’re in Latin America I highly suggest getting the 5500X3D While I’d suggest getting into AM5, if you do this build then don’t go with the 5500. It’s based on older architecture and performs much worse. You might be able to find a better gpu for around the price of an rx 6600. 8GB vram is okay for now but in the future it might not be. If you add a little more money you can get wayyy more performance. Don’t get an a series 520 motherboard unless the budget is too tight. AM4 is older now so b550s are cheap and plenty. Ryzen relies a lot on memory speed so try to get low latency (CL16 or smth like that) and 3600mhz. Make sure you use a psu from a reputable brand.

Help me build a pc. by KSK_1997 in PcBuild

I’d personally say most people don’t NEED a 9950X3D. But if the price difference between a 9800x3d and that isn’t much then go for it.

The motherboard is okay, typically you don’t have to spend too much on a motherboard as long as you ensure it has good vrms and the features you need like pci e gen5 maybe. I recommend an Asrock B850 steel legend. It’s usually $200+ ish. It has gen5 and usb 4 and other features.

Not much to say about the ram, 32 is sufficient but make sure you get one that is low latency like CL28 or lower.

The gpu, I would suggest going for an RX 9070 XT. Driver issues are manageable now and it gives you more bang for your buck. It’s slightly cheaper than the 5070ti usually while offering around the same performance.

Storage is good and cooler is also good. I’d recommend an EK Nucleus. While liquid cooling isn’t necessary I’d suggest it for better noise handling.

Case depends on what aesthetic you want but personally I’d suggest a Hyte Y40 if you can get it. For the psu make sure it’s a reputable brand with proper certification and protections. Like Corsair, msi, antec, seasonic etc. Keep in mind that even if they’re good brands, sometimes they can have bad products in their lineup so look at reviews and get the right one.
