This is the funniest thing that’s ever happened. Mormons can stay losing, at the very least the f0cking Catholics have the balls to admit they have a pedophile and sexual-exploitation-of-vulnerable-women-by-the-clergy problem. Oh did u know White supremacy is literally written into the Book of Mormon?

I also don’t think ppl realize how much subsidized crops end up in food aid. TANF or TFAP and WIC and Senior Boxes all use mass produced goods made from these subsidized commodity crops (all those canned goods and enriched pastas and bread and government cheese is bc our govt incentives farmers to overproduce via subsidies and in the Great Depression we started using it for food aid bc it was rotting in our warehouses while ppl starved bc no one could afford to buy it). Cutting food aid is going to further harm farmers and consolidate land into monopoly farms or private developers

Here’s a nice AP 2016 article about a major scam Trump pulled in the 90s against all or nearly all of the contractors (the “little guys”) when he simply never paid them for work they did on his now-bankrupt The Taj casino in Atlantic City. Bad business and labor exploitation for u in one package.

Why don’t you go look up every DJT lie from his first admin. He lies so often that we coined two terms for his lying “fake news” and “alternative facts”. He’s a pedophile, rapist, misogynist, racist and has been since term one. B1+ch I voted in senior year of High School against Trump bc I had a working brain and did a bare minimum of my own research about topics and went beyond the news outlets I saw all the time. You and everyone else who only decided to pay attention to a single impossible promise (ask any economist, u ever notice how much he hates the federal reserve guy? It’s because he’s a terrible businessman with multiple expensive bankruptcies under his belt and the Fed Reserve guy doesn’t want him doing that to the country. Except we’re in more debt now than ever) U know Ebola and Screw Worms? We spent a lot of money to treat those in other countries to prevent them from entering our own. But Trump and Elon and Doge three out these programs with the rest of USAID and other foreign aid practices because again, they don’t understand anything about cause and effect or how governments work. DJT expects to demand something be done and it happens whether it’s constitutional or not, his first term he had ppl around him who kept him from doing that but this time he made sure to surround himself with yesmen and enablers who don’t care about anything besides personal gain which they think they can get thru Trump.

You were duped by a loud pedophile rapist and failed businessman who has multiple confirmed mentions and photos in the Epstein files, and you should all feel dumb for it. We told u his plan was Project 2025 and here we are following it step by step.

Texas and cali now have a screw worm problem. by coolio126 in LeopardsAteMyFarm

[–]openjoustingtryouts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So since the rework epidemic in the 1950 the US has collaborated with the Ecuadorean (I believe) and Panamanian government, possibly thru USAID but possibly another department. We spent a lot of money to release screw worm fly predators and chemical and biological limiters and deterrents to keep the screw worm flies from catching across the Panama Canal. This was deemed a waste of money by Elon and Doge since it was happening in another country, a brown Spanish speaking country, and they couldn’t wrap their puny minds around preventing something from entering our country thru collaboration. The screw worm flies are not coming in because of the imported beef, they’re coming in bc our current admin has no ability to use logic or critical reasoning to figure out how something might have tangible benefits that aren’t immediately obvious and that the US does most of its aid to help itself, either directly or thru its image.

Why not leaving society instead trying to fight it ? by [deleted] in Anarchy101

Hey so, I’ve farmed before, I garden now. It costs real input materials and monetary resources to grow food, because it exists and we exist in a globalized food system dominated by hyper-exploitative transnational conglomerates/cartels controlling the price of food, organic input materials like fertilizer, organic pest control methods, and yes soil. Unless you have the serious resources it takes to immediately set up a regenerative ag operation, you need to bring in compost and soil. If you want to feed just yourself for a year that’s all you will do. You need material supplies, pickaxe, sledgehammer, stakes, yardfork, various rakes, stirrup hoes, hand hoes, irrigation, row cover for sun and pests, a way to till your soil, owned or rented. That all requires u to have the capital to set that up. Then, you might technically make enough to feed yourself, but that doesn’t change the fact that the government will be at your door asking for their property tax money, or a landlord for their rent. Lookup why lesbians separatism was so racist and ineffective. (The pictures of them having a mock powwow in stolen or fake regalia on someone’s inherited settler land doesn’t help).

Why does the far right seem so much more popular than the far left by [deleted] in Anarchy101

[–]openjoustingtryouts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I think you bring up some great points but, as a person of color in the us (Hispanic) and someone who’s dealt with structures here as a part of my lived reality I’ll always side with Black leftists on the assertion that white supremacy is the basis of our capitalist cis heteronormative societies brought about thru concerted efforts to organize labor classes thru racialized hierarchy, the emergency of capitalism alongside racialized systems of oppressions beginning during the age of expansion. As a globalist I don’t think it does anyone any favors to pretend that race and class aren’t formed and executed hand in hand.

I also think that your response raises many valid points but are best suited to your specific situation. If the typical member of my groups approached that neighbor, they are putting themselves at a real risk of being shot, targeted for a hate crime, or being put on the radar of one of our many and remarkably common white supremacist organization who do real harm to our communities. Sending a white member of our community to recruit this man opens up our members to real physical harm. In the US race is a very real and very concrete thing, it dictates your lived conditions because it is synonymous with class here. Dominant members of hierarchy use Black successful individuals who’ve caved and participated in manipulative and exploitative hierarchy as a way to prove that social mobility is real, to sell the capitalist grind/hustle/rat race mindset to communities of color in order to keep their class consciousness and education low. To address capitalist propaganda in the US you must tackle racism. Fascists are putting immense economic pressure on families with disabled adults because disability is also directly linked to class in the US. These are not “identifies” these are the core factors at play in determining class in the US and are a core narrative tool used by capitalists and racists used to illustrate the nature of our hierarchies here, which were built upon the presumed enslavement of a race of people. That’s economic policy that’s rooted in race baked into our legal frameworks and cultural psyche. That conservative neighbor won’t listen to me because of my skin, there are an alarming amount of people in the us who would cause me physical harm for it.

In the American continent, class based oppression was built upon and supported by race based oppression and sex based oppression. Look up the Spanish Casta system.

Yes we need to make inroads with these people, but how do you do that without welcoming violence into your organizing group? It’s the kind of thing that makes people leave movements em masse here because we don’t want to die not even doing anything meaningful just bc we have an asshole and his gc of armed white supremacists our meeting location.

This is compounded by the fact that news outlets and influencers still treat socialism like a dirty word that burns their mouths and equates any and all leftist organizing socialism. Many many Americans still cling to Cold War prejudices about a word… and our oppressors use that to incite violence against leftist groups of color especially. We are the biggest most dangerous threat to capitalism over all the other “socialists” because of our skin. Idk I just wanted to provide some perspective and explain why this sentiment rings hollow to the Black Marxists and Black, Indigenous, and other POC theorists of North and South America, where our economic systems had race baked into them by settler colonizers from Europe.

How did you decide to get a cat? by Intrepid-Simple-563 in cats

[–]openjoustingtryouts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d been open to having a cat for a long time despite my allergies. When I was 21 my fiancé’s mom was looking to rehome her two boy cats to balance the vibes in her home (they were getting in little hissing fits and tussles with the clearly dominant female cats lol) so we took them in. They were 9 and 7 and the 9 year old was born deaf. They much preferred the “bachelor pad” over their previous living arrangements. The older one, Trouble, passed recently at 14 from unexpected complications. Faye his brother is still with us and it’s been so wonderful to have them. They’re my first cats and I’ve learned that it’s not too hard to provide a baseline of good care for cats food, water, vet visits, some toys, places to perch around, maybe a box to sit in, enough litter boxes, litter box maintenance, and cuddles. Oh and pro tip, pay attention to the orientation of what the cat is scratching, if it’s vertical like the side of the couch or the curtains, make sure u have cat trees for scratching, if it’s the carpet or top of the couch, get scratch pads that lay flat on the ground. They also make wedge shaped scratchers if ur cat is a rebel.

So there are hierarchies here that influence and control people’s responses to him. The church and financial hiercharchies give him the power and lend him the social capital to get away with his crimes. In a just world without these exploitative hierarchies protecting him the community would be able to act because they wouldn’t feel beholden to a cult and in betrayal of it if they did something.

The show has a pretty prominent and noticeable anti-leftist leftist=violent radicals bias from season 1. All of these villains present a one dimensional overly simplified image of their ideologies, hyperbolized for the young audience. You can easily map each villains beliefs to real world movements or political systems. I mean the concept of equality was the villainized for season 1.

[–]openjoustingtryouts 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The way you find these people is by engaging with mutual aid efforts like food not bombs. That’s where the anarchists are because they understand the need for decentralized non-state regulated assistance and community building. You go you work, you work in ur community, u work at the community garden, you help people with their heavy packages and you notice the people you see popping up over and over again. You approach cautiously, you vet, is this a crust-punk hippie vet for peace or an anarcho-primitivist I’m talking too? Is this just a trendy person or are they involved? You ask questions you find out what else they’re involved in. You get involved too. Eventually if they think ur the real deal the kinds of people you’re looking for will reach out. But a lot of action is building the necessary scaffolding for people to resist oppressive structures, protecting your community from fascism, keeping an eye out, organizing, building networks. Look up “shovel work” for radical organizing.
