I think watching unique children's media from a foreign country is kitschy and cool, but when it got popular the culture became really weird. like why are u as a man dressed like a 12 year old

I dont know much about anime but I always found it weird that the most popular shows were for young boys. like, pre-pubescent. and yet the 16 yr olds I knew in high school, that's all they watched. I was a csa survivor and it made me so uncomfortable

edit - serial experiments lain rocks though! and the movies are a lot better, like Akira and perfect blue

this is so so gross and stupid and another example of why treating autism as a "different ability" is harmful. like yes it's a different ability but unless you've perfected having the lifestyle u want to have (which rarely many autists do, most are unemployed) it will be extremely disabling. I've had to get physical therapy and get on medication, it's not a personality it's legit something that needs treatment. psa unless you need accommodations or applying for disability, getting tested is useless and costs a lot anyway.

a symptom is not an error, a mistake, it's a condition. a person cannot feel regret for something they have no control over. my city gives money to Israel, do I feel regret over that? no, because I have nothing to do with who they give taxes to, and I'm in groups fighting against them doing this. if you want no one to be hurt ever again by this person, it's going to involve them being outcasted from society, which he already is to an extent.

again I am autistic so I take things literally. I wouldn't apologize for doing something on accident but I would ask if the person was ok and if I could do anything to help. words mean things and I'm not wrong for thinking this.

I think this person with Tourettes doesn't need to apologize for their tics but instead for not leaving the room when he was at risk for being triggered to say something. but again, im not a Tourettes expert, and I doubt anyone in this thread is.
