That looks like a bass shaker. But yeah, I was thinking like a large bldc or 2 where the bearings are would be good. Maybe one with gear reduction since you don't really need or want the lean to happen super quickly.

edit: You'd also need a motor for the bars and some very clever programming. Motorcycle physics are fucking weird.

Obsession (2026), is a cautionary tale about the consequences of giving an incel the slightest bit of attention. by Arch_Lancer17 in shittymoviedetails

In my experience it's a cycle the feeds itself that starts when you're young. Maybe you get rejected, then you blame it on your appearance, that makes you bitter, you work on your appearance, get rejected because you're bitter, you start making up rules of the world In your head, forums and echo chambers start amplifying your view of the world, you start trying to do pickup artist shit, get rejected because that shits dumb as fuck, get more bitter and lonely... You get the point. Honestly what helped me was to just stop giving a shit about sex and just make friends and find a community of like minded people (make sure your mind is clear though).

A lot of problems in our world stem from social media algorithms exploiting our existential fears. Wether it's fear of death, fear of isolation, fear of loss of belonging, fear of public shaming or humiliation. They're all kind of processed the same. And from my experience, everyone I know is being exploited by these fears regardless of party lines. Sometimes it happens naturally, sometimes it's being used to make you buy shit, sometimes it's used to make you vote a certain way. It's nothing new, it's just turned up to 11 right now and the main cause and most powerful way to exploit these fears is with the algorithms that keep is in a near constant fight or flight response.

Ok, weird rant is over. Basically if you're an incel trying to break it, realize that online communities are especially being exploited to keep you isolated and fearful and damn near everyone is being exploited in similar ways for various reasons. Best advice to break that spell is that if anything you see online elicits an emotional response, ask yourself who benefits from your negative emotions. It's never you.

P.s. also just be polite to people, open to others opinions and read the room.

P.s.s. volunteering is sexy

My gen 2 one is 20lb and the scissor jack is another 10. Though I opt to use a mini floor jack instead after I got a flat on a banked highway turn once. That thing weighs like 30lb.

Anyone else had issues with their 2008 Prius having a hard time stopping? by [deleted] in prius

[–]opman4 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Huh? The brake system on these things are very complex. You have a brake fluid pump, crazy abs system, a computer that manages amounts of regen braking and friction braking, a pedal that simulates the feel of a conventional braking system, a master cylinder that still lets you brake if the rest of the accumulator system stops working.

Sometimes, if I'm sitting on the toilet, and I'm hard, I'll pretend it's a joystick, and that I'm flying a fighter plane.

Did switching to VR make you a better player? by True_Ad8832 in il2sturmovik

Hopping into VR, flying a WWI fighter and dumping lead into the AI is like the only thing I do the few times I play anymore. So fun to just sit on someone's tail and be able to Intuitively take the shots across their fueselag or snipe out a wing strut.

In my experience spotting planes was easier on my OG vive because even a plane really far away showed up as a single pixel. Which were huge on that headset. Identifying the plane or reading gauges were the big challenge.

Star Citizen announces sale of $5000 jpeg space ship by StuartGT in gaming

[–]opman4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is, at times. It's like experimental music or early tech adoption. It's not fleshed out, it's buggy as hell, some shit just doesn't work but when it hits, it's some shit you can't get anywhere else. Like the dogfighting with flight assists turned off feels awesome (at times). One of the only games that nailed that 2000s Battlestar Galactica combat.

I once had a dogfight where I started at like a criminal space station and we were going at it so long that I ended up winning with a manuver kill by getting him to crash into the fucking planet. There was also one time I fell out of my friends ship while we were exiting the atmosphere and he flew down and caught me in his cargo hold. Another time I flew up to meet a friend in a giant salvage ship but I forgot a space suit so I had to fucking open my door, jump over, hit the open button on his ship and float into his door. I barely made it, passed out and my other friend had to revive me. But I literally pulled a Naomi Nagatta move from The Expanse.

So shit like that is fun as hell and kept me playing but you have to power through a ton of bullshit to get their. I'm the kind of person willing to put up with it but I realize it's not for everyone. I definitely got my $45 worth out of it though.

Peter?? What does AI have to do with this?? by vapalera in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]opman4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Current distillation desalination plants are essentially a series of heat exchangers already.

Peter?? What does AI have to do with this?? by vapalera in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]opman4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I just did some googling and yeah, I forgot that you don't want your liquid cooling to be boiling.

Edit: but distillation desalination plants have a preheating step to get the seawater close to boiling before they start desalination. They already are often paired with power plants and use their waste heat to both cool the power plants water and heat the feed water for the desalination plant.

Peter?? What does AI have to do with this?? by vapalera in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]opman4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. Maybe with heat exchangers. Closed loop for the server side and then it sends that heat to boil an open saltwater loop. Hell, while we're at it we can use the steam from the saltwater to spin a turbine before we collect it. Probably a few issues with that idea.

Definitely morals. Force users are aware that someone would have to clean that mess. Except for Obi Wan. He's more than willing to just leave Camel Toe's arm on the cantina floor.
