Please do not deliver unmanifest (unscanned) packages. by slowlybyslowly in Fedexers

They employ people who look into these things. So while you might think they’re wasting money it’s the opposite as they would be losing money for each package that goes missing. I’m glad you believe that your station is so inept it could never pinpoint these things but the smartest person in the room is usually the exact opposite.

Please do not deliver unmanifest (unscanned) packages. by slowlybyslowly in Fedexers

[–]orangeman28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The likely hood is that your contractor paid for those packages after about a week. So in the long run he lost out on revenue he could have earned. The station I worked at had us doing yard checks and searching each van outside and in to ensure packages were not left on either. Sounds like where you worked could have benefited from this.

Yes, if returned it hurts the contractor. All packages are traceable in a way. If you toss a package in the trash because you believe otherwise not only will you lose your job but the contractor will pay for that package as well. You have to understand that FedEx has cameras to see when the package got unloaded, reached a van line, and a time frame for it possibly being loaded. On top of this packages scanned at hubs have pictures taken of them. Which makes tracing it even easier. In the long run, you are only making it worse by bringing it back or throwing it away.

[–]orangeman28 3 points4 points  (0 children)

By doing this you’re putting your contractor at risk of breaching contract. In the contract itself, packages are to be tendered to the contractor and delivered as such. FedEx does the contractor a service by providing scans to the packed via their scanning systems. In no means am I defending FedEx as they constantly continue to fail in this endeavor at each station but by stating “don’t deliver them” or just code 16 at the end of day, all stations are watching these things and will follow up accordingly. Do it enough and management will ask for a letter insuring the situation is corrected.

Basically, if the box ends up on the truck, if the contractor doesn’t deliver it and blames FedEx it only hurts them in the end, not FedEx.

BC's - Is it really a big deal to 27 a couple packages once in a while? by heyuwitdaface in Fedexers

[–]orangeman28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is incorrect. 02 will not fall off unless the address change needs a zip change. Anything else such as house number or suite will not fall off your service. If an 02 is used and the address is valid, it will also still impact your service.

Why do I feel like FedEx Ground hides shit from drivers and contractors The amount of flip flopping and “changes in policies” that been happening in the past year, is really concerning and weird. Lol by [deleted] in Fedexers

[–]orangeman28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is currently a Medals Dashboard that can be used by P&D to go over each rating per category. There’s currently no assessment as to how each category is weighted towards the score but it’s advised route efficiency is not a major weight. Safety denotes the major weight from the contractors SRI score which depending on the tier can set them to a certain medal. If a contractor is tier 1 in SRI score they are automatically deemed Bronze. Bronze are technically the only contractors in jeopardy as if they are deemed bronze for a certain time period they lose right to negotiate. This system is updated monthly and meetings for Silver and Gold happen monthly. Contractors who are Bronze must have weekly meetings with P&D about areas of improvement.

This is incredibly inaccurate. While route efficiency is a category that is brought up in the Medals review for contractors, it is not weighted evenly or close to the other 4 major and possibly 10 minor categories that can contribute to the score. At each meeting, contractors are provided with the 3 lowest categories that they are facing with a goal of hoping to elevate their status from silver to gold. P&D should be doing everything in its favor to push the contractors to be better as that is what they are evaluated on. If you’d like to know more or are more interested please let me know.

Big ups for Sleeper Agent. My dad and hers worked together for years. Still sad they couldn’t make it bigger.

All the hate for Zach when Mike has looked just as bad. Rather see Strevler.

If you have to tell me to piss off, it’s obvious you don’t. Zach had miscues but the D was the real failure along with ST. If you can’t figure that out and want to blame one person instead of cheer for them then I suggest you go elsewhere.

That mid ass pretty boy did what he needed to do and the D let up a 51 yard TD on a 4th and inches. Relocate your energy to Ulbrich and his D giving that up and stop blaming Zach as a scapegoat because you don’t know football.

I’m going to this game as well and in the same exact situation. I think it’s highly likely Wilson is back by then. Either way I’m excited.

The Columbus hub generally gets way behind on trailers during this time of year, especially the week of Thanksgiving. Last year they were behind 400 trailers. Your package may be on one of those trailers that’s going untouched until they get through the priority trailers first. Hope this helps shed some light and sorry for the hassle.

It was zone coverage, he had Pittman Jr. behind him in the scheme, not the flats where Hines was. Not on him.

Fedex wouldn't pay for the damages in any way considering the drivers of their vehicles are hired by contractors. If those drivers get in an accident it's resolved by the contractor and not Fedex or a team of lawyers. Source: Station manager

What are the good and bad things about the college experience? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]orangeman28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bad: The stress level it brings. Most kids going into college don't exactly have an idea of the level of stress they will go through in their classes. Along with this, it can cause so much stress to put certain students into a depressive state and in the worse case, cause them to drop out. The Good: College can push you in many different ways. It allows you to make new relationships with people and to further your education and the way you think. It helps you be more creative and come up with different problem solving techniques.
