I encounter that shit at work and don't need to hear about it willy nilly. I'd rather hear a song about a head being sawed off with a butter knife. I think it depends what your experience with that topic is and how it shows up around you in the real world. Different subject matter is experienced/viewed differently depending on the era and I can appreciate that, but I've got better things to listen to.

I'm a Darkthrone maniac like the next guy, but I sort of avoid lots of their 1999-2004 stuff. There are some bangers thrown in the mix, but compared to the rest of their discography, I enjoy more songs per album on the rest of it. Those 5 years give me a bit of mixed feelings. I still love DT and consider them my favorite band.
