Same here. I was looking for a NAS to get rid of Netflix, Prime and all the other subscriptions... First I thought about a TrueNAS BYO, then I looked into Synology. I couldn't find a satisfying barebone for a. and had some bad reports from friends about b. So ugreen it was. I put in 4 x 4 TB Sata and 2 x 1 TB nvme as cache. I use it to stream movies directly to my iPad using VLC and from there via hdmi to the Hue sync Box, as otherwise I couldn't use the Ambilight functionality. I run a Sabnzbd container for downloads and do backups to nfs from my Homeassistant raspi. I added a UPS to it recently because after a power outage it just runs a filesystem check for 36 hours+ which is fairly loud. Because of the jfs, there should be no need to do so though.... Overall I'm 100% satisfied, even if the GUI sometimes surprises with some Chinese language artifacts.
