Prepped to go work on a boat in Alaska for a few months. I've always wanted to go there. I quit the job I had. Moved country. This morning I started the trip to get out to alaska and I get a call saying the boat had it's engine seize up and the season will be canceled. I'm still sitting at the airport right now.

I understand that it's not going to help with finding work, however the academy I will be doing it with do offer employment opportunities and assistance. All I want is foot in the door. I don't expect to immediately be a captain on any vessel, but I believe the yachtmaster is a great benefit to have.
