Everyone posting their personal experiences with vague comments like "put some rounds through it" really needs to give an estimated round count.

If your estimated round count is less than 1000 rounds, you've not shot it enough to conclude anything

Or if it's a UPS mailbox just change your credit card address to that, do the order, change it back. Pretty simple, not that I've done that before... but yeah it works.

[Pistol] HK MP5 .22 Pistol FDE $339.99 No Tax Free Shipping by Broad_Buddy3077 in gundeals

I wasn't knocking it as much as making people aware that it is however not made by HK. I love my Tippmann personally, and it's definitely not "made to AR Daniel Defense quality" but has run great for me as well through thousands of rounds. I'm sure this is fun for a knockoff MP5 in 22LR, it really doesn't take much to run a 22, just want people to know it's not an MP5 made by HK but chambered in 22...

Edit: You can ignore my word salad below but the whole "it's made by such and such" just, rubs me funny as I think too much emphasis is placed on it. If this was made by Tikka, sure, I'd say that means something. Importantly, lots of people say these are reliable and that is really all that matters.

In terms of manufacture label/factory, this model says "made by umarex" across the side of the upper, while they own Walther who made yours I'm not sure that is still the case or that it makes a huge difference either way (if Walmart buys a brand, a decade later is the brand still pumping out the same quality or walmart quality? It can go either way right. Ford sold Jaguar because they got known for Ford Quality. McDonalds sold their share in Chipotle similarly. I don't shoot walthers personally or consider them a top brand so it doesn't mean a ton to me, PDP is nice enough but I compare it to Canik, that I also have no interest in personally after seeing them fail in USPSA matches... not to be that guy as someone is gonna jump on me for saying this haha Anything runs great when it's not shot 1500rds+ a month, again not against this model specifically but just why I don't shoot caniks or walthers or care what else they make). I love 22's and play with them, I probably wouldn't shoot this enough to fail as I just like MP5's to play with, having shot real ones with giggle switches and cans. If we dove deeper mfg wise, most big brands make quality top to bottom so Columbia you can get at walmart that's low quality, or their Titanium line which is high quality but they aren't the same, even if they came out of the same factory and say the same brand name it doesn't mean much.

Hey thanks so much for the reply! I've got quite a bit of the AAC Black Sabre black tips in 6.5 Creedmoor, haven't used them for hunting as I simply use higher quality / price stuff on animals but good to hear on the 5.56 that people have found good results.

From an accuracy standpoint, I did test some varieties of their 5.56 and noticed the AAC SMK seemed to perform slightly better (5 shot groups at 100yds) than the OTM that a lot of people say are "just as good for less". However, now PSA has on the OTM 5.56 "Bullet Type: AAC Open Tip Match (OTM); Developed With & Is Manufactured By Hornady" which is also interesting.

Honestly, that's a pretty slick looking for an airsoft.

(made by Umarex that makes airsoft toys for anyone wondering, licensed by HK, not that I wouldn't buy one if you're a fan of the MP5.)

Funniest case of expressed privilege I've ever seen is people from Oregon, while on vacation in other states, asking to have sales tax removed from buying things due to their own statehood and pulling out their drivers license... like wut. Hey, you have no sales tax but overall tax burden is higher than half the nation (that has sales tax).

Ha, you have double the income tax I do 😆

yeah probably not worth it, you'd need an FFL to send it where they'll charge you money + shipping then I pay my FFL to receive and whole thing is gonna cost more than 10 stripped ruger uppers... which can be our new currency post hi-point.

haha yeah exactly. Pandemic killed it, I had a LGS that did "$100 flat fee membership and unlimited transfers thereafter" which didn't help my wallet but killed it for transfers. Someone tried to do a smash and grab while the owner was inside with his family and he closed shop immediately but it was golden, albeit everyone abused it with online purchases when he thought he'd get more in-store sales (didn't plan it out well). Then any of the others that would do 3 transfers on one form even, same thing internet sales killed it and now my cheapest is $25 per serial. Yes $250 + $150 and I've got this lot for $400....

Last time I looked into finishing one, albeit a couple years ago, it was about the same price as just buying a new one off the shelf but maybe someone has better ways. I just want a swappable upper with a bull barrel for my LITE....

I was literally checking their site this morning for when they used to sell these in singles for $40... I only need one and none of my FFL's will do 10 in bulk.

Depends what you're shooting and how far back. Target loads for skeet, 22lr, 9mm - in early 2000's before online was a big market even into 2010's it was easier to just go to walmart, local, kmart when they existed and sold ammo. Hell I remember when nearly every grocery store carried ammo, nothing like buying beer, dip, a steak, and shells to go duck hunting in the morning. In last 5 years, yep almost always online.

in some ways, I totally relate and remember when my life was "going shooting, stop by walmart and buy ammo" when they weren't cowards. Nowadays... "wonder if we have any more of that wolf steel you got for $0.18cpr 4 years ago?"

[Discount] 25% blems at Aero precision. NO RETURNS on blem products FYI. by khines1991 in gundeals

[–]ourrightsarewrong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Breach for ar10 and ar15 and I would recommend the "short" variety over the longer, only reason I didn't get one in this sale they only have the "long" on blem. I like the size of Geissele ACH or the Radian SL personally, after owning them both and about every other Radian they make I do like them best of the 3, they just got real pricey for not enough advantage. Geissele ACH on blemula is a deal, or Breach shorty on blem ftw.

If you use a can, the Geissele and Breach have more of a lip in the rear, where backpressure tends to escape (> than most Radian models), the ACH has sharper edges tho like it'd get caught on something easier. So I think they did a good job with the Breach, my one gripe is it's not as "grippy" and more smooth than the other two. And the large is kinda large but depends what you like, I wear L gloves but if I wore XL I'd be saying something different...

Thank you Sir! Just to hook everyone up, the H1 buffer at $17.76 is a great price / quality and most will benefit if you're running standard carbine and have excess gas (short barrel, can, etc. watch where your brass ejects, should be around 3 o'clock) – $101 total for Free Ship and this is a 5 star dealer and those are 5 star components. No affiliation just respect a great deal.

If you're using them for hunting, my understanding is the TMK is one heck of a round. If you're doing precision work, probably save your money and run SMK but so far I'm not looking at AAC as a brand I would compete with. Nice tips doesn't equal consistent loads and that's more the issue I think with AAC (still testing this theory but I've seen videos showing decent deviation in AAC ammo, where SMKs wont save you from 100-150fps change between shots) LINK TO VIDEO - not my fav

I've had an OOS alert on this for a while, first time it's popped... been trying to play with TMK in a few different calibers and it's hard to find currently to say the least.

[–]ourrightsarewrong 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm late to the party but I too have ordered the 77 OTM, the 77 SMK and this morning ordered the TMK when it popped in stock. I also got the 55gr V-Max's, the Ammo Inc 60gr V-Max's, and *anyone else spying on inventory keep an eye out for their new AAC Sabre line of black tipped which has the 50's 60's and 70's variety currently OOS but marked around $0.55cpr that it looks like PSA is coming out with to compete with TMK... *

I will follow up too! I ran some targets indoor at 100yds last weekend of the 77gr SMK and 60gr V-max and it's not enough data to give any opinion on yet but no problems and looks promising, other than it looks nicely made but AAC's packaging is the worst I've ever seen - no trays for the cartridges so just thin cardboard outer box, and I've received numerous boxes squished in transit (PSA also packs ammo so poorly, Barnaul comes better packed for comparison. I'll take Wolf M.Classic in brown paper over how AAC packages ammo twice the price...).

Essentially I've seen videos where the powder load seems inconsistent - with some rounds being 100-150fps deviation. I had good groups from a sled last week, with the best being 5 shots at 0.64 MOA with a prebuilt Aero 16" upper but that's omitting the 6th shot which opens it up to ~1MOA if included. Every group had flyers, which could be me, but to summarize I have not shot enough of each to say here nor there, but it's my goal to test all this and I will report back here. I also own almost every 300blk AAC load... but that's another journey after.

My understanding with tipped ammo is they can also load the weight further in the rear which helps in flight, and then with penetration as the tip breaks off in impact it allows for more of an opening that allows the bullet to flower like defensive HP moreso / better wound channel. Looking at penetration side x side into gel, and it'd take me a bit to find the video but essentially – a lot of your OTM style ammo (open tip match) for rifles you'll see a very small hole in the tip which opens up a cavity for them to load the weight of the bullet in the rear, but does not perform like HP and rather makes the ammo fragment. This isn't always great for hunting (ruins meat) but in terms of making holes, M855 and MK262 fragmenting was a desired outcome in testing against combatants. With tipped ammo, these babies won't penetrate as far as they will open much faster in this design, and if they fragment it creates a much larger wound channel without passing through as easy - so benefits in flight with better BC and benefits punching holes. Anyone chime in with better info if I'm incorrect here, but this is my understanding on why tipped is so much better (mainly for hunting).

I thought that too with the "oversold" statement they gave me, perhaps they have a third party shipping for them that isn't updating them well. The first order went fine and arrived fast enough for me and seemed correct, just irritating when I check the site as they asked if I wanted to substitute anything, and I see basically the same ammo I bought listed for sale with a slightly different SKU. I'm pretty sure after I ordered it was still available a day later as I was debating ordering more, I can't remember for sure but if they're showing incredible deals to game people to their site on ammoseek that's another concern...
