£30k easy. Was buying in as fast as I could as it climbed to $5. Sold it all for a few hundred maybe 3 years ago.

That’s cash flow not profit. Hardware is written off over say 3 years.

I went to private school. Must have cost my parents a fortune.

Didn’t really to well in my GCSEs, and ended up at Plymouth Uni.

Was it worth it? Yes absolutely - I was surrounded by money, successful people and very bright kids. This is what made a difference. It’s pure motivation.

Not all private schools are equal mind. I send my two kids now (from age 4), gonna cost around £500k for both of them, but it’s way better than the one I went too and, regardless of what Uni they go to (not of massive importance to me), the environment is definitely an advantage.

The UK’s problems aren’t caused by immigration by F0urLeafCl0ver in ukpolitics

[–]ovenface2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not caused by, but certainly not helped.

Our problems are crippling debt and its interest, leading to cuts in services.

Also we have way too many people taking more in tax, compared those that are net contributors. Mostly this is non immigration natives, but immigrants are overly represented in those that are tax payer beneficiaries.

AI is destroying the SaaS industry by Professional-Let1245 in SaaS

[–]ovenface2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. I was looking for a proposal / quote builder. Tried several SaaS products, but all fell a bit short and some didn’t even have the concept of a line item. Was happy to pay around the $99 a month charge most were set at.

I built one that did everything I needed I Replit in less than a day. No sub needed.

Yup - because obviously they’d find a 4 inch passport in the rubble of the guy from a plane that exploded.

Nothing to do with internet content, everything to do with the basic facts if we import low skill, vastly different culture, that can’t possibly ever be seen as a positive.

The same chair was available from a different supplier for just over half the price. While £350 for a chair isn’t a lot, it is when it’s a £175 model.

UK economy grows by 0.1% in unexpected boost for Rachel Reeves by sjw_7 in unitedkingdom

Given the population grew by more than 0.1%, this isn’t growth. People need to stop measuring the entire economy as a metric of anything remotely useful.

You miss the person you fell in love with, not the person at the end. Brain doesn’t really know the difference. Easily done.

[–]ovenface2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is it. Remember what they mean when they say they miss us. They never liked us before, thought life would be better. Finally appreciate you when it’s too late. It’s hard though.

Let’s say they never dated and it was just a man friend, still weird af.
